At last, summer break is finally here and Yulia especially seems excited. Sadly, Mao assigned some homework, which involves doing some quests.
As expected, Yulia was thinking about what she wants to do during break while spacing out in class. Of course, Mao spoils it by saying that she has homework to do. Thankfully, they don’t have to do it individually since it’s a group assignment. It involves the party doing a quest and writing a report on it.
Of course, it seems that Yulia, Mei and Fai have other plans for summer break instead of doing homework. Mei wants to go buy Cartado cards and Fai wants to eat delicious food. As always, Yulia wants to defeat the Demon Lord. Thankfully, Seria manages to get the girls back on track by suggesting to investigate monsters on a remote island. As expected, her idea worked out well. Aside from Fai eating all their provisions on their way, the island is the ideal location. After the girls finish their homework, they have a place to enjoy for themselves since there is a beach.
Of course, once the girls arrived at the island, they changed into their swimsuits. It’s funny how Seria tries to remind them about the homework. Shortly after, she gives in and changes into her swimsuit. I have to admit they look good. Obviously, Seria becomes jealous of the size of Fai’s chest that she tries to avoid looking at it. This is despite Fai saying how cute Seria’s swimsuit is.
The funny thing is that while the girls play on the beach, they had no problem discovering monsters. Seria tries to pick up a shell and Fai ended up doing it. She pulls out a monster called “Tip of the Iceberg Shell.” Now that is a mouthful. Aside from Seria trying to stop her friends playing around, Yulia eventually builds a sand castle with Fai helping her. Sadly, a hermit crab-like monster called Lodging Hunter took it as its home. The funny thing is that the castle crumbled while it tries to crawl away. Lastly, there is a monster called “Watermelon Mimic” when Yulia tries to slash a watermelon blindfolded. It can replicate itself from being sliced and grow bigger, if punched.
I have a feeling that the girls are just lucky. Then again, it could be a coincidence that Yulia, Mei and Fai discover monsters that easily and Seria is overacting. At least the girls finished their homework. I find it funny how Fai, Yulia and Seria thinks that Mei is smart when it comes to monsters. In reality, she had an encyclopedia of monster information behind her back.
Of course, I knew that when the girls try to prepare food, the girls find out the provision Cartados are used up. It’s obvious who is the culprit. Seria should have handled the cards so Fai wouldn’t use them up. Still, it’s surprising how Mei admits that she doesn’t have any provision cards while she smiled. Thankfully, she has a fishing rod Cartado, so at least the girls can go fishing.
While Seria and Mei has a hard time fishing, Yulia fished fish like it’s no tomorrow. As for Fai, she ends up catching a mackerel that has human legs and it can talk. Apparently, he accidentally summoned a god that looks like Cthulhu while he flirted with his love interest. Now, that god is holding the Mackerelman’s friends captive.
Aside from that, seeing the girls confronting the evil sea god is hilarious. While he said something that the girls didn’t understand, Seria had to simplify it so her friends can understand. Regardless, Yulia ends up handily defeating the evil sea god. Either way, it’s funny how the evil sea god in his true form says that nobody can rival him, not even the Demon Lord. I guess he realizes by now that the Demon Lord is merely a powerless little demon girl. The irony of this is that Chibi ends up eating him whole. So, who is the powerful god now?
In short, this is a fun beach episode. Sure, the girls didn’t play in the water, but at least they did some beach activities while finishing their homework. Not only that, they also defeated an evil sea god too. Either way, the princess seems to be the focus of the next episode. I wonder how she is like.
