At last, Pastel*Palettes finally get a day in the spotlight as they prepare for a performance. However, Chisato is missing out on all those practices for some reason.
If you can tell by their outfits already, they are basically the idol girl band. Besides playing music, they do activities any idol group would do such as taking pictures, take on acting roles and participate in events. What is interesting is their embarrassing past. Sure, some real-life idol groups actually sing live. On the other hand, there are some that lip-sync and eventually get caught doing it.
Lip syncing is the biggest sin one can commit as it will show that the idol group or any musical act has no talent. In other words, people will perceive those performers as being fake. Apparently, a technical hiccup exposed Pastel*Palettes’s lip syncing and Chisato had to apologize to the audience. Now that is very embarrassing. Thankfully, management finally allowed them to finally play instruments and sing at the same time without faking it. With their upcoming performance, they hope to fix this.
Apparently, Chisato after her idol activates went to a secret place to practice alone. I find it funny how Tae knows the studio where she is going. Chisato sees her again at her destination. Still, I don’t get why she needs to keep this a secret. After all, Hina eventually notices that Chisato’s bass guitar doesn’t sound boomy as usual with her bass’s strings worn out.
Of course, Chisato’s refusal to sing during practice causes Aya to become worried that she is not good enough. It’s understandable that Chisato doesn’t want to waste everyone’s time when she can’t sing and play the bass at the same time. Even so, I think it’s better for her to practice together. After all, doing it alone is not the same.
The funny thing is that Tae almost spilt the beans to Eve and Kasumi. Chisato had to give Tae the death stare and give her some hush money in the form of sweets. Doesn’t Chisato know that hush money does not work and might actually backfire?
Sadly, Eve and Kasumi ended up overhearing their conversation anyways. As they say, it’s better to do it together than alone. Yes, Aya was willing to wait until she believes she is good enough to sing together. Of course, the other members show up shortly afterwards and they decide to practice together.
At the end of the day, it seems that Pastel*Palettes’s second performance was a success. At least they can finally shred that perception that they are fake. If they didn’t practice together and grew further apart, I have a feeling that their performance wouldn’t turn out well. Aside from that, it looks like the next and final band that will receive the spotlight, which is Afterglow.
