It seems like yesterday since I started my Anime blog back in February in 2009. Today, this blog reaches yet another important milestone of turning 5 years old. While the 5th year had some ups and downs, I still enjoy writing about Anime and even Japanese language video games. (Image Source)

Love Live School Idol Project – Final Review
In the past few years, shows involving idol singers has gotten really popular. While Love Live School Idol Project was in the works since 2010, it finally debuted as an Anime during the winter of last year. While I started watching the first few episodes when I was on vacation, I finally finished it this week in anticipation for the sequel that will air this spring. So, how well does it compare to other idol themed Anime? Let’s see. (Image Source)

Thoughts about Otaku and Its Influence in the Industry – Is it a bad thing?
In the past, I tend to avoid the topic on the Otaku for the fact that they are viewed negatively by Japanese society while the west tends to view the word in a more positive manner.
Of course, in a recent interview from the famous Hayao Miyazaki has stirred controversy when he stated that the Anime Industry is “full of Otaku.” While it’s understandable why he would feel this way considering his age, he brings up an interesting point that eventually lead me to share my thoughts about the whole thing. Remembering the Fansites Era – Looking back at my Experiences of Creating One
Before I started blogging about Anime during a cold winter day back in 2009, there is a part of my past that I haven’t touched upon yet. Previously, I used to maintain a fansite, a type of website that was popular back in the day. While some older fans might remember this, I think newer fans should know how it was like back then. New Atelier Rorona – Origin Story – First Impressions
Back in 2009, Gust finally transitioned from the Playstation 2 to the Playstation 3 when they released Atelier Rorona. While the gameplay went back to the premise of the original games and focused more on item crafting and such, the graphics were pretty lackluster. While Totori and Meruru had better graphics and gameplay, it seems that first game in the Arland trilogy felt really out-of-place in comparison. I can’t really blame them since the Playstation 3 had a rough start when it comes to role-playing games.
Four years later, Gust finally made a full remake of the original game for the Playstation 3 and the Vita complete with a full graphics overhaul. How well does it stack up with the original? Let’s find out! (Image Source)

Thoughts about Marathoning or watching Weekly and How I Watch Anime
In a recent post that Kai wrote last week about watching weekly or marathon shows got me thinking: How do people generally watch Anime? With streaming, powerful tablets and smartphones, there are more places where one can watch it. Even so, people are going to have different preferences on how much they watch and where they watch it. Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;birth1 – Final Review
Back in 2010, Compile Heart and Idea Factory made a game personifying video game consoles as cute girls with the plot based on the console wars. While it was an interesting idea for a story, the first game unfortunately had a lot of problems ranging from game-breaking bugs to mediocre graphics.
Just little over three years later after the franchise got two well received games, Compile Heart decided to make a complete remake and reboot of the first game for the Playstation Vita, Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;birth1.

Thoughts about watching Anime raw – Should you Learn Japanese just from Anime?
Last month, I have read a few bloggers’ thoughts about watching Anime Raws, which got me thinking about a strange idea that some people have: learning Japanese just by watching Anime. While it can be beneficial to watch Anime without subtitles, I will also focus on some reasons why it’s a terrible idea to try to learn Japanese just by watching it. (Image Source)

Surface Pro 2 Review – Great Tablet for Anime Blogging?

Back in 2010, I became a first adopter of the original iPad, which was the device that started the tablet computer craze. I liked the device for the fact that I can surf the Internet, read e-books, watch Youtube, check twitter and stuff without having to drag a laptop along. Of course, tablets got more powerful since one can now view fansubs without converting them (even 10 bit providing that you have the latest tablet and the right player) and even write a post using the native Wordpress interface with image uploading. While tablets won’t replace a laptop for some tasks, they are handy when you are on the move.
On the other hand, when Apple decided to leave the original iPad behind for iOS 6 even though it can probably handle it. Since I got frustrated with my Livescribe pen, which is a device I use to take notes during class and transfer them to the computer, I need a tablet with an active digitizer. After reading about the capabilities Kai’s tablet can do, I decided on getting a Windows 8.1 tablet, particularly the new Surface Pro 2 Microsoft released last year.
