It has been a while since I did a podcast, but it’s finally alive, for now at least. Since I don’t feel like writing about this subject in written form again, I’m doing it in video podcast form. Also, I got a new microphone, which is another reason I want to record one. However, I’m not perfect because I don’t make podcasts on a frequent basis.
In this episode, I will analyze some data I gathered about the state of blogging in the Aniblogosphere. The contains all the blogs participated in the first round with a few dead ones in the second round. So enjoy and feel free suggest other topics I should focus on in future podcasts.
Also, all the data that I compiled is here in PDF form. (Image Source)

Although I shared my reasons why I blog about Anime almost two years ago, I never wrote about why I still watch Anime. Since Kai shared his thoughts about why he continues to watch Anime, I became interested in writing about it since it’s a rather diverse medium. (Image Source)

In the past, I have played various Japanese RPGs such as Final Fantasy and Pokémon (excluding the Atelier games I played recently). Of course, there is one other RPG series that is popular with the Anime fandom and it’s the Tales of Series. (Image Source)

Although Kud is adorable, I still felt bad for her.

Believe it or not, my 3rd year of blogging was a pretty good year. While I didn’t win the 2nd Aniblog Tournament, at least my match came a bit closer compared to the first one that happened in 2010. In addition, I explored other means of content besides writing episodic and editorial posts. Aside from that, there were some real life events such as Hurricane Sandy, which prevented me from blogging for a few days. Despite the difficulties I face while more Anime blogs died in the past year, I pushed on and now have reach the fourth year of blogging.
Since I reached my fourth year of blogging, where do I go from here since I don’t show any sign of dying anytime soon? Well, I’m pretty much doing more of the same since I’m satisfied by how things are going now. On the other hand, with Grad School is on the horizon, I might have to adjust what I blog and probably stick to weekly editorials and stuff. When the time comes, I will figure it, but it all comes down to proper time management.
With that, I thank all my friends, followers and readers who supported me for all these years. Let’s make the fifth year a strong one!

If you might be wondering why I delayed the third post for this Let’s Play, it’s an unexpected one. I realized recently that I didn’t record enough episodes up until Spring Break, which starts on March 17. The bad news is that, I have to delay Episode 9 and 10 because I need to re-record some parts of the commentary that got messed up. Even so, I bought a better microphone yesterday, which is a Blue Snowball since there was a good deal on it. Hopefully, that will sound better than the crappy internal mic I was using from my previous recordings.
As for the episodes’ content, I’m getting a bit deeper into the game. Basically, I completed my first year of developing while having new people to accompany me on adventures. Of course, there is a special surprise in Episode 6, but I won’t spoil it since it’s cute. (Image Source)

As you may know from my review of the Playstation Vita, I actually use video games as a way to practice what I have learned besides studying the textbook, memorizing new vocabulary and writing sentences. While the readings are great in the textbook as they show how the grammar is being used for a particular lesson, it can get a bit cheesy at times as it’s usually consists of people talking about school life and such. For that reason, I decided to play some video games in raw Japanese and I had a pretty good experience from it.

As released back in 2010, Atelier Totori made numerous improvements to the gameplay from Rorona after Gust made their first entry to the Playstation 3 such as the art style and game mechanics. Now, that is now made into a Playstation Vita game that only got a release in Japan. (Image Source)
Note: Like with all the Arland games, the Plus versions were rereleased on the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch as DX on September 20, 2018. As with the Plus version, the review will cover the DX versions as well.

Since the Aurora Theater Shooting, there has been some discussion about violence in general from two notable Anime bloggers. While I had some thoughts about it, I decided not to share them since it’s a controversial issue. With the Sandy Hook Elementary Shooting that took place last month, I felt the need to share my thoughts about violence in media as some politicians and NRA’s Wayne LaPierre decided to make media the scapegoat instead of addressing the issue. There are many reasons why I don’t think media like Anime necessarily cause someone to become violent. (Image Source)
