I have been wondering for a while why people tend to enjoy shows that are either have a ridiculous premise or ones that it can be considered as “so bad it’s good.” While I have shared my thoughts about bad anime, I wonder what qualities make a show so bad it’s good.

In the past few weeks, I have witnessed a lot of bullying and name-calling shaming people who play or enjoy video games. It’s true that people tend to judge people depending on tastes and their hobbies such as people who like Anime since it’s a niche medium. Because of this, people who are not familiar with it will likely hold an ignorant, distorted or uninformed view on it and generalize them to a certain stereotype or label.

After witnessing the massive disappointment from the second season’s finale of Ore no Imouto, there is something that I came up with while watching the OVAs. Basically, I felt that this show is literally a tragic love story as Ruri, Ayase and Manami have their dreams crushed by a forbidden incestuous relationship between Kyousuke and his little sister.
This makes me wonder, was it worth it for him to go through all of this? My analysis says otherwise. (Image Source)

After spending about 11 and a half days relaxing on vacation in Chicago and Wisconsin, it finally came to an end this afternoon. So, I’m catching up with everything and hopefully I’ll be back on track by end of this week. With that, I want to share my thoughts about Ore no Imouto 2, which has been one of the most anticipated sequel for the Spring 2013 season. Sorry for the long delay as I was wrapping up the Spring Semester and also my Undergraduate degree. However, I’m not done with college yet as I’m getting my Master’s Degree and be finished about a year. Hopefully then, I will be able to get a job in Information Technology.

Just recently, something has come into my mind about how parents raise their children in Anime after watching the 8th episode of Tari Tari. With the stereotype of Asian parents wanting their children to succeed such as the Tiger Mom and Eagle Dad, some of these stereotypes are also present in Anime. This is because Asian countries typically value education a lot, which is why they tend to rank high on science and math. I have always wondered about the themes Ore no Imouto covered since it was a topic that has been done in the past, but not well executed. Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu covered only the surface of the Otaku subculture but only to throw it out of the window in the second season.
