While this show was under my radar since they announced it like a few months ago, apparently, the third generation of Love Live group finally receives an anime. This is of course Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club.
At a glance, it does feel somewhat different from the previous two Love Live installments from the last two generations. Thankfully, the franchise finally gets over the same plot of rescuing the school with a more lighthearted feeling. This time, it starts off with Ayumu and Yu after spending some time at the mall and sharing each other’s food seeing a school idol perform. It was Setsuna who also attends their school.
After watching her performance, they find out that the club is at their school. Apparently, Yuu wants to become a school idol after watching a bunch of videos, but Ayumu seems hesitant. They decided to go to the club room, but they found out that Setsuna disbanded the club.
Yes, Nakanawa Nana takes down the place card for the club. This makes me wonder, why Setsuna suddenly decided to give up? The thing is, doesn’t Nana and Setsuna look very familiar? Yu asks her if she met before to Nana. Nevertheless, this is very suspicious. At the same time, the club disbanding out of the blue upsets its members. Still, I have to admit that this is something that Minori will do. She was a secret idol and part of the student council.
After Yuu and Ayumu spent time together, on their way home, Ayumu want to start another club together. After she sang, it seems that she wants to do it despite not having the courage and confidence to do it.
With that, she gives Yu a card as a promise that they will see through this dream together. Of course, she will do it. After all, Ayumu and Yuu are probably more than just best friends. After all, there is one scene that Yuu tasted a bun that Ayumu have, which can be an indirect kiss.
Since I have too many shows to cover, I will share my impressions of this show and others I decide to pick up and not cover in the monthly “What Is on My Mind” posts. With that, stay tuned for the impressions of the next three episodes at the end of the month.
