Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica (also known as Puella Magi Modoka Magica in Latin) has to be one of most anticipated Magical Girl in the 2011 Winter Season. This show has some similarities with Nanoha since Akiyuki Shinbo directs this show. Subsequently I enjoyed the show and wish to share my thoughts about the first episode.

Besides the second season of K-ON, which I will be covering in a future Anime Moments post, there was an OVA that released in the first season. Basically, the Light Music Club decides to do a live house performance, which they are very excited about. After Ika was abused in the last episode, she finally gets to relax and have fun a bit. Maybe not since she gets sick in the first part, but after that it became a really enjoyable and hilarious moment.

Like any bad day, this show seems to have its bad episode with some unbelievable, corny and silly moments. I wonder, who is going to get an Anime adaption after they wrote their first light novel? If you guess Kirino, then you are right!

In this stimulating episode of Tantei Opera Milky Holmes, the girls walk to a beach to unearth something that will restore their Toys. In the preview segment for this episode, it was expected to see some fanservice even though its not the amount most people expected.

As shown in the last episode, Ika is a genius at math. Sadly, Ika seemed to lose her person to prey on. In addition, the American alien scientist takes her away since Ika messed up. I guess Ika is having a really bad day with this.

After watching Ore no Imouto Episode 7 and the past incidents with a certain commenter on my blog started posting strongly biased comments against the moe genre. Well in reality, most anime fans don’t really care about the moe but care about the characters, story, animation and/or music. Also, the strong elitist hatred towards a genre could be destructive for the whole Anime Fandom.
As demonstrated in the arguments between Kirino and Kuroneko over the kind of shows they watch, it shows the obsessive side of the fandom. Nevertheless, genre elitism is harsher in real life with bashing of titles, making fun of/bullying fans of a genre, have strong feelings of hate and saying that anime is dying because of it. Moe seems to get so much unnecessary blame to the point that I feel the need to defend the genre even though I am completely neutral to the genre.
