Well, this was perhaps the most enjoyable arc out of the series that tried to differentiate itself from the earlier arcs. It was filled with so much cuteness, moe and perverseness that it could not compare.

K-ON!! Second Season – Episode 23 – Overall Thoughts
Even though the four girls seems to be a bit nervous about leaving the school behind and entering society by going to the same college, there is a reason to feel like that. The fun memories they had together in the Light Music Club bonded the friendship together. That friendship allowed the girls to decide on going to the same college to learn, play, and socialize together in their eternal and happy friendship.
After I looked at this episode, it reminded me of my senior year. I had fun with my friends when I went on a field trip with the bands or the time I socialized in the lunchroom. When graduation came, I know that the real world is going to be different and my friends would be going separate paths. Three years later, I am still surviving college rather well with a good outlook in my life.
For the girls, I think they will have an even brighter feature considering that they are together. It makes me wonder if they going to continue having a band right into college. They most likely will since they enjoy making music along with drinking tea and eating cake. As for Azusa, there is no doubt that she is going to miss them. Nevertheless, I think she will survive considering she still has Ui and Jun as her friends. Later on, she can apply to the same college once she graduates and reuite with her other friends.
The tape recording of all their music is very significant at the end of the journey as a memento. This allows them to treasure the fun memories through their songs and give inspiration to the newcomers who want to carry on their legacy.
In the end, these kinds of moments is what caused whole perception of K-ON being just a moe comedy change into something of a life lesson. Strong and good friendships is what makes life a beautiful thing and the girls are living proof of it. They are ambitious with their studies while having a fun time. In my opinion, this is what friendship is all about and there is no doubt that the last episode will leave us with an emotional and joyous impact once they graduate and start their new chapter in their life.
Anime Digest: K-ON!! Episode 22 and Kaichou wa Maid-sama Episode 21
Over the course of last week, I kind of got caught up writing editorials, reviews and homework that I completely forgot about writing my thoughts about K-ON!! Episode 22 and Kaichou wa Maid-sama Episode 21. Since there isn’t really much to say about them, summing my thoughts in one post is enough to satisfy.

Amagami SS – Episode 11 (Sae’s Arc, Part 3) – Meido Sae-chan and the Date
After Junchi have been instructing Sae-chan to help her get a job, she finally made it… but something still bothers him afterwards. I wonder what that problem may be.

Seitokai Yakuindomo – Episodes 5-6 Overall Thoughts
I have to say, Seitokai Yakuindomo is probably the mildly enjoyable series in the 2010 summer season since it has funny jokes with Episode 5 more so than Episode 6. Yet, our completely sane Takatoshi keeps getting these galage magazines because everyone thinks that all men are interested in those kind of things. It doesn’t surprise me either because like Takatoshi, I am not so interested in ecchi or rather the erotic works out there since it’s not worth polluting your mind with junk (like porn and no offense to people who like these kinds of content).

Amagami SS – Episode 10 (Sae’s Arc Part 2) – Junchi Becomes a Player
Do you sense that Junchi is being more perverted than the previous arcs? The other episodes simply cannot compare to the perverseness of this episode. What perverted things Junchi does to Sae? You will see for yourself.

Seitokai Yakuindomo – Episodes 3 and 4 – Overall Impressions
In Episodes 3 and 4, Aria and Shino goes on a class trip and later we see bonded Pedobear! Its going to be a wild wide.
Note: I am still playing catchup, so these impressions post has to be in the same format like what I have done with Seitokai no Ichizon.

K-ON!! Second Season – Episode 21 – Yearbook Pictures!
As the four girls’ high school year come to an end for good, they must overcome the second to last thing before graduation… Taking yearbook pictures! I remembered this time 2-3 years ago when I had to take senior portraits and it turned out to be pretty good. Yui on the other hand… Thats another story.

Amagami SS – Episode 9 (Sae’s Arc Part 1) – The Timid Freshman
It’s a new arc and a new girl. That means that Junchi is companionless, for now…until he ran into Nakata Sae during the summer of course! She just transferred from another school and is in Miya’s freshman class. She is really cute, except that she is super timid as you see later.

Two Episode Taste Test – Seitokai Yakuindomo
I thought there is already a show with a Student Council filled with girls with one male character? In a sense, yes… but that one had a ton of Anime and Otaku references. As you noticed, Seitokai Yakuindomo is completely different since all the girls are rather perverted. ironically, the male character seems to be the only sane person in the school.
This is a two episode taste test. This is the overall impressions I have for this series over the two episodes. The third episode will ultimately decide if I should continue the series or drop it.

K-ON!! Second Season – Episode 20 Brief Thoughts
Surprisingly, time goes by very quickly when you are having fun with friends. After all, four of the girls are seniors and they had to perform their greatest to make the memory last forever. From the three festival performances, this is probably the best out of three and was pretty heartwarming. Some observations:
- Sawako worked overnight to get the HTT t-shirts out to everyone. That is pretty nice.
- The audience seems to be excited.
- The first song was very light-hearted, but the last one seems to be heartwarming.
- And of course, we got some stage comedy that took a chunk out of the time including Mio and Ritsu reciting lines from the play.
The sad realization is that it’s their last year they would be performing in front of the crowd. We know that good things have to come to the end, but never let go of the fond memories they had with each other. As we let the festival go away in the sunset, we should realize that K-ON is not all about girls doing cute things or eating cake and drinking tea. Its all about friendships, which is one of the simple things in life. Most people might have even gone through this feeling after graduating from High School or College and leaving old friends behind. In the end, as the girls did in this episode, we should remember the times we had fun with our old friends and never let them fade away…

Amagami SS – Kaoru Tanamachi’s Arc Final Impressions
Almost a month later, another arc is finished with some triumph. Kaoru’s arc compared to Haruka’s arc felt more realistic and natural. However, it still suffers the same issues of pacing. The question remains, how well Kaoru’s arc held up in Anime form?

Like in Haruka’s arc, girls seems to hate kissing on the lips for some reason and want to be kissed in unusual places instead. Last time this happened, our hero kissedHaruka puppy style, but what he came up this time with Kaoru?
And while you at it, we might see a more pissed off Miya?

Amagami SS – Episode 5 – Kaoru “Sex Hair” Arc, First Impressions
With one girl’s arc down, we continue on with the next one featuring Kaoru. There was a lot of talk about her because of her hair since it looks messy. Kaoru’s hair style gave her the nickname,”Sex Hair” from her fans. After watching this episode, it was a bit better than the first episode of Haruka’s arc because Kaoru was a bit more entertaining compared to Haruka.

Part 3 of the Taste Test: Amagami SS Episode 3 and the Love/Hate Fest
Something tells me that Amagami SS looks like a generic harem with ideal archetypes. On the other hand, after I watched this episode, I enjoyed it. Is this the “guilty pleasure” anime I was watching? It sure is since Amagami doesn’t have the greatest character development. It has the over the top situations where the male lead and/or the girl do silly things that make the show sound so funny and enjoyable. Even some people can’t admit that they enjoy the absurdity of the actions in Amagami. However, that is okay since it’s a guilty pleasure after all? Right?

K-ON!! Second Season – Episode 13 – Azusa and the Summer Memories
I spent most of my summer having my eyes glued to the computer with some exceptions. Now, I am on vacation in Wisconsin/Minnesota and I felt refreshed since staying at home all summer was boring and I wasn’t doing much except sitting at the desk doing programing work, blogging and chatting with other bloggers.
Azusa suffers the same fate with Yui, Mio and Ritsu having a study session in the library and Mugi vacationing Finland. Azusa spends time with Ui and Jun to get away from the summer boredom.
Throughout the whole episode, Azusa falls asleep. In the dream sequences, we get a flash back of memories for all the four girls on what happened during the summer. They range from silly to completely funny. The flashback includes Yui eating the wrong combinations of food, Mio watching scary movies, Mugi trying to win a prize with Azusa winning a trip to Finland and Ritsu pushing Azusa down with a bowl of Yakisoba on top of her head. I couldn’t help but laugh since they did silly things.
Of course, those dream sequences that we are shown have some consequences… For instance, Azusa forget what she was doing or misses an entire movie… It happens when you are tired during the day and decide to take a nap while you were doing something like listening to a lecture. It’s not a good sign…
Most people think that summer is long… In reality, it’s not. Sitting in the house in front of the computer is no way to spend the whole vacation. If you want an enjoyable summer, you need to go on one vacation at least and enjoy what it has to offer. I’m doing so right now and It’s a breath of fresh air. Even though there isn’t much things to do in Wisconsin, I enjoyed some of the sightseeing in the state. I don’t regret it.
Besides the flashbacks Azusa had while she was sleeping, this episode was rather enjoyable. However, it wasn’t as enjoyable as the last episode. Its pretty much the trend where we have one episode being very enjoyable and the next… well a mixed bag. It’s not a bad thing, but I wished that the enjoyability factor was a bit more consistent. At least they aren’t repeating content like they did in the last season.
Next Episode: Time to study for those exams?

Two Episode Taste Test – Amagami SS
I lied about not trying out any of the Summer 2010 Anime. I decided to check out Amagami SS since everyone in the blogosphere was talking about it and there isn’t many things I can do in Wisconsin. From looking at it, Amagami SS was a pretty enjoyable show from the two episodes I watched so far.
This is a two episode taste test. This is the overall impressions I have for this series over the two episodes. The third episode will ultimately decide if I should continue the series or drop it.

Kaichou wa Maid-sama – Episode 14 Impressions
Well, Usui was tricking the woman-hater and we all know Yukimura is a great crossdresser as proven in the last two episodes.
Episode 14 was a enjoyable episode, but not much advancement. As we all know, Kanou Soutarou of Class 1-7 hates women. He is basically a genderbent version of Misaki, except that he is more violent. With the growing population of females attending the school, he fears this the most. He tries to take down Misaki who is pushing this trend, but it fails. This makes me think that this female hater is a bad guy. He really needs serious help to get rid of his hatred of women. If he can’t, why not go to a different school or be home schooled if he can’t deal with it.
As with Aoi-chan hypnotism of believing that he is an actual girl, Usui can never get hypnotized, even by that female hater. However, everyone else can because they were tricked into believing it. The female hater goes so far and places a spell on Misaki to hate Usui. However, Misaki sadly slept 5 minutes before the spell comes in effect… The result could be funny since Misaki is pretty much a tsundere when it comes to the relationship with Usui. In reality, Misaki loves Usui, but she doesn’t want to show it.
With the concern of Misaki and Soutarou’s spell, what will truly happen to her? Will she hate Usui or not? Not to mention, open house is the next episode and we know that Soutarou will try to sabotage Misaki’s plan. It makes me wonder on how it will turn out, especially that Yukimura is crossdressing yet again. Man, Yukimura crossdressing will probably top off Aoi’s crossdressing by the rate its going.
Verdict
8.6/10
Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha – Episode 1 – First Impressions
I haven’t watched a mahou shoujo (magical girl) series for a long time ever since Sailor Moon and Card Captor Sakura stopped airing. Just a few months ago, I stared to have some interest in Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha after reading something about it somewhere… Thus, I decided to start the series.
Unlike Sailor Moon and Card Captors, Nanoha uses the typical magical girl formula plus the addition of moe (except StrikerS, which I will not be watching). The main character is no exception to the moe. The moe is pretty much on par on this series unlike the more moe filled series like K-ON! for example. I also doubt that I will see any moeblobs even though the ferret and the girls in this show are really cute.
