Yamada needs some affection… and she finally gets some!
It clear that Souta has a huge liking for Popura because she has the traits that he likes. He often pets her head while ignoring Inami and Yamada who wants the same attention. Yamada especially steals the spotlight as she tries to have him spoil her and fails. For me, I can’t really blame her since Otoo never comes around to give the care and attention she needs. This is probably why she wanted attention from anybody to satisfy herself. Then again, this would only encourage her to act like a brat. Even so, we still like you and please don’t ever change!
Also, I liked how Popura and Yamada decide to team up to stalk Souma so they know the truth about him. For a guy like him, he is a blackmailer, which is probably why the other workers find him annoying. While they make a plan to eavesdrop on him, he overhears them and tries to coax them with Taiyaki (たいやき). It’s so funny that they got slightly sidetracked from their plan with the pursuit of sweets. Ultimately, they spy on him in the men’s changing room and after he left, took a look at his phone. I liked how they were massively disappointed after looking at the call log. Hopefully this will discourage him from blackmailing so people wouldn’t dislike him so much.
Lastly, there was some disappointment with the lack of development of Souta’s relationship with Inami thus far in the second season. I could understand that her androphobia and the use of violence was a big turnoff for him. However, doing nothing is not going to solve it and playing cupid may make things even worse. This inevitably led to unintended consequences as he practices to call Inami “cute” with a doll and causes a big misunderstanding. From this, I feel that their relationship will stay at a standstill until she makes an effort to get over it.
As Otoo leaves again, Yamada becomes lonely yet again. I found how she copes with it rather hilarious as she touches every girl’s breasts. Sadly, Inami gets shafted she is flat as Yamada basically forgets about it. This is probably another reason Souta doesn’t hold much interest in her and only reinforces the fact that she’s getting shafted.
From the look of the next episode, Souta’s youngest sister, Nazuna finally comes to work… and come to think of it, she bares a slight resemblance of Yukiho from The Idolm@ster appearance wise. ¶
