Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica Movie 3: Rebellion Story – Movie Review
It has been a while since Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica first aired in 2011. Since then, there have been two movies which is a recap of the anime series with better animation. Of course, there are also two console games released, bunch of manga spinoff series, a dedicated Manga Time Kirara magazine filled with Madoka stuff, and recently, a smart phone game, Magia Record.
Of course, there is also a sequel movie, which starts where the anime and the first two movies left off. That movie is of course the Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica Movie 3: Rebellion Story.

Magia Record: Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica Side Story – Mobile Game First Impressions
If you recall in 2011, Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica took a different spin of the magical girl genre focusing on the darker aspects. With that, similar anime series such as Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku and Mahou Shoujo Site followed the leader in the genre, especially the former. I have to admit that I still have to see the Rebellion movie and will do so someday.
Of course, the Madoka Magica franchise had two licensed games such as Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica Portable and Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica The Battle Pentagram, which I reviewed. Besides these two games, there are actually a good number of mobile games based off the franchise as well. While they are only available in Japan only and short-lived, mobile gaming has evolved since then.
In 2017, eventually a new mobile game called Magia Record: Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica Side Story, which released for iPhones and Android smartphones. It features new characters along with other magical girls from other spinoffs. Currently, there is a stage play and manga adaptation with an anime adaptation coming later this year.

Forget Twin Tails, Ponytails are the Best!

Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica The Battle Pentagram – Final Review
Back in 2011, Madoka Magica took the magical girl genre by storm as they deconstructed the whole genre by making it dark and filled with drama. As expected, the show received so much critical acclaim that it eventually received three featured length movies, a bunch of manga spinoffs and even a licensed video game, both were made by Bandai Namco. Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica The Battle Pentagram is a sequel to the first portable game, which swaps the rogue-like dungeon crawling for a hack and slash gameplay on the PlayStation Vita.
Warning: Contains some spoilers from the Anime and movies.

Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica The Battle Pentagram – First Impressions
In the past, I have been wary towards licensed video games for the fact that most of them produced in the west are notoriously bad. However, I have never played any licensed Anime games before. With that, I will share my first impressions thoughts on Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica The Battle Pentagram.

My Anime Music Tournament Picks
Unless you are living under the rock, a fellow blogger named zzeroparticle who runs the Anime Instrumentality Blog has created the first tournament for Anime Music. If you like listening to Anime Music like I do, go ahead and nominate your favorite songs. But in this post, I’m going to discuss the top ten songs I nominated. As always, my picks are subjective so you don’t have to agree with them.
So, what criteria did I use for my nomination ballot? First, I only considered opening, insert songs and ending themes for shows I have watched and listened. Second, I also factor in how good the song sounds along with how memorable and enjoyable the song for my nominations. While my choices are biased for recent Anime, hopefully you won’t judge me.
With that, I will share the top 5 picks I nominated for the tournament first with some arrangements on the piano. (Image Source)

Remembering Love II – Madoka Magica – Part I – Make a Contract with Me!
Back in 2012, a now retired blogger named trzr23 have created an Anime Blog project called “Let’s us Remember Love.” Apparently, Justin at Organization Anti-Social Geniuses will be doing the second year of it and I will be participating.
For this year, I decided to take a look back at Madoka Magica since two movies has already released for the franchise. When I watched this back in 2011 with a group of people online when it was airing, it felt like a different magical girl show filled with despair. This is mostly contributed to Gen Urobuchi’s writing, the person who is also behind Fate/zero and Gargantia. His stories are filled with tragedy and a lot of character deaths. While shows like Lyrical Nanoha have girls fighting for survival to maintain peace, Madoka completely deconstructs the genre, which is already a good reason to take a look back. (Image Source)
