Believe it or not, summer is more than half way done. Although I haven’t watched much from the summer lineup since I went on a two-week vacation late last month, the shows that I watched were very enjoyable. Out of the show from this season’s lineup, I have watched Ikoku Meiro no Croisèe and The iDOLM@STER along with two shows from last season. (Image Source)

For a while now, I wanted to watch True Tears, PA Works’s first production before they produced other anime such as Canaan, Angel Beats and the now airing Hanasaku Iroha. While the latter having a few similarities since Mari Okada worked on both series, the focus is primarily on the love triangle that slowly develops with Shinichiro and the two girls, Hiromi and Noe.

During the Fall 2010 Anime Season, I have taken a brief look of some the opening and ending songs I heard from the shows I were watching. Since I only covered a few shows last winter like Madoka Magica, Hourou Musuko and Fractale (Gosick is left out since the ending theme single came out in the spring), I decided not to focus on it. However, I have published a full review on Madoka Magica’s opening song, “Connect” at Anime Instrumentality and you should check it out!
For the Spring 2011 Season, there was a good number of opening and ending songs I liked. Out of the songs that released and listened to during spring, I liked “secret base ~kimi ga kureta mono~” (Ai Kayano, Haruka Tomatsu, Saori Hayami), “Scarlet Knight” (Nana Mizuki), “Hazy” (sphere), “Scarlet Ballet” (May’n), and “Spread Wings” (Aki Misato). For each song, I will share my thoughts about them briefly. (Image Source)

With my 21st birthday quickly passing by us, I turn 22 years old today. Since my last birthday, lots have happened with my blogging of more Anime series, most namely Ore no Imouto, Madoka Magica, Wandering Son, Gosick, Hanasaku Iroha and Ikoku Meiro no Croisèe while facing a mild case of an overactive thyroid. In the first few months, I found it considerably difficult to blog while dealing with the autoimmune disease, but I eventually overcome it.
Besides that, my parents and sister are planning to take me out to celebrate my 22nd birthday. I have received a Nintendo 3DS as my birthday present in advance (a new iPhone has to wait) and planning to review it sometime this month. Besides this, feel free to share your birthday wishes in this post or on Twitter. I’ll post the birthday tweets on this post once the day is over.
In addition to my birthday, the domain I am using for this blog and everything else (chikorita157.com) finally turns 1 year old on August 11th. I felt that getting a domain name was a rite of passage to get more noticed and it was fairly affordable. Even so, I am planning to keep on maintaining the domain well into the future. (Image Source)

With the school festival coming in a matter of days, Ohana is very excited about her class’s plan to do a Princess Cafè. For Minko, she takes it a bit too seriously…

In my last review, I have reviewed the first Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Movie, which is essentially a summary of the first season with more backstory. With this review, I will focus primarily on the television series, which aired in 2004. (Image Source)

Two weeks later, I have finally returned from my rather long vacation after traveling over 3000 miles in the car! While the activity on my blog took a slight nosedive, I have enjoyed my time and now feel refreshed.
Coincidently, I watched the beach episode today with the girls and Producer going on a one-day vacation to relax from the blistering heat amongst the lack of air conditioning. As you expected, it’s time for fanservice!

This year, there doesn’t seem to be any shortage of anime filled with drama and tear-jerking moments. Madoka Magica, Hourou Musuko and to a certain extent Hanasaku Iroha have shown us some of the most dramatic scenes thus far. However, Ano Hi Mita Hana No Namae O Bokutachi Wa Mada Shiranai, which perhaps holds the longest title in anime history takes it to an entirely different level with a childhood friend tragedy. In effort to make the girls of 765 Productions more noticeable, they appear on a wacky Iron Chief-like show with a crazy frog host. While it seemed fun for Haruka, Hibiki, and Takane, Chihaya wasn’t pleased with the lack of singing at the event.

We are getting close to the middle of summer and I find myself wanting to watch another show. So I decided to take another look at THE iDOLM@STER, a show that has nothing to do with robots, but a more faithful adaptation of a popular idol raising simulation game. (Image Source)

In the past few weeks, there has been some discussion on why fans decide to blog about Anime. It’s true that blogging takes time and dedication, but there are many reasons why people continue to do it.
For me, I have been blogging for nearly 2 years and a half now and I have my own reasons for blog. I decide to do it not for popularity, but to enhance my experience as a fan of Anime. (Image Source)

It has been a very long time since I have written about Nichijou since I decided not blog the series and watch it only for enjoyment. Since I last written about it in April, I felt that it’s necessary to share my thoughts briefly on the second half while focusing on a few favorite moments I watched so far. (Image Source)
