My Anime Music Tournament Picks
Unless you are living under the rock, a fellow blogger named zzeroparticle who runs the Anime Instrumentality Blog has created the first tournament for Anime Music. If you like listening to Anime Music like I do, go ahead and nominate your favorite songs. But in this post, Iâm going to discuss the top ten songs I nominated. As always, my picks are subjective so you donât have to agree with them.
So, what criteria did I use for my nomination ballot? First, I only considered opening, insert songs and ending themes for shows I have watched and listened. Second, I also factor in how good the song sounds along with how memorable and enjoyable the song for my nominations. While my choices are biased for recent Anime, hopefully you wonât judge me.
With that, I will share the top 5 picks I nominated for the tournament first with some arrangements on the piano. (Image Source)

Summer 2013 Vacation Update and Marathon Plans
While my post on my Anime Music Tournament nominations is nowhere close to completion, I feel the need to share what will happen late next week and how itâs going to affect my blogging for 11 days. As some might know already, Iâm going on vacation starting June 27th until July 7th to the Midwest, namely Chicago and mostly dull Wisconsin. I will also be making updates on Twitter and uploading photos to flickr during my vacation.
Even though I will have Internet all week through hotel wireless and my iPhone, I know that some reviews are going to get delayed because I will be on the road. Because of this, posts for the last episode of Gargantia and Photo Kano will be delayed a little, but I will try to get them up. As for the Neptunia Idol game, which released recently, I will write a review on that once I finish the first play through, which will take some time since I have to translate dialog.
With that out of the way, here are the two shows I plan on doing:
- Love Live School Idol Project
- AKB0048Â (first season, from Episode 3 to the end)
I will watch as many episodes as I can while Iâm in the car and then write a full review. Of course, revising it will take some time so donât expect it right away once I finish all the episodes.
In addition, I will be making a âask me anythingâ post where you can ask questions as long it is related to blogging, Anime, or video games, which will stay stick to the front page until I come back. I will check them every day as they come in, so please keep it civil. With that, I hope everyone have a nice and fun summer.
The Appeal of Video Games: Why I Continue to Play With Them
In February, I talked about my personal experience of how video games changed my life. Just like Anime, video games also play a big role in my life. Since Neptunia the Animation will be airing in a few weeks, I wonder what are the things that make video games appealing? I will share my reasons why I think so. (Image Source)

Tamako Market – Final Review
Kyoto Animation currently holds a reputation for creating faithful adaptations. However, they are usually weak when it comes to original stories. Although Munto, their first original production wasnât well received, they didnât make another one until last winter when they aired Tamako Market, a slice of life story involving one girl, a talking bird and a family ran mochi shop. Attacking the Anime Fandom – The Negative Implications for the Anime Industry
Last week, Nintendo decided to take away monetization of videos such as reviews, Letâs Plays and reviews from their fans. While copyright law is very complex when it comes to fair use and making derivative works, attacking a fandom by taking down Youtube channels, banning fanart and sending cease and deist letters to take down fanmade games can hurt their goodwill and reputation.
While we have seen this with video games with Sega taking down Shining Force videos last year and Husbro putting an end to a fan-made My Little Pony fighting game early this year, what about Anime? Yes, it exists and there are very negative implications that can occur from fan backlash. I will focus on several reasons why companies should not attack the fans for making fan generated content and instead, should support them. (Image Source)
