For a long time, video games played a big part of my life because of the escapist element coupled with interaction. Of course, somebody came up with a brilliant idea to make a video game personifying the console wars such as the battle between the big three (Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft) or the one that happened in the 90s between the Super Nintendo and the Sega Genesis.
Now, these consoles are personified as cute girls in a video game titled Hyperdimension Neptunia, which is made by Compile Heart and Idea Factory. While Idea Factory has a bad reputation for making not so good games (although Monster Monpiece was enjoyable), at least their installments to their franchise improved on their gameplay and story. From that, we have the Anime, which everyone waited for.

If you look at any fandom, you will bound to find obsessive fans that take things seriously and start berating people for not having the true fans or going on the rampage when the couple he/she wanted doesn’t happen. Or maybe you might come across an elitist anime fan that says your taste in Anime is crap. After spending about 11 and a half days relaxing on vacation in Chicago and Wisconsin, it finally came to an end this afternoon. So, I’m catching up with everything and hopefully I’ll be back on track by end of this week. With that, I want to share my thoughts about Ore no Imouto 2, which has been one of the most anticipated sequel for the Spring 2013 season. Back in 2010 in the height of controversy surrounding the first season of Ore no Imouto. I find myself defending moe anime as elitist fans blame it for the reason Anime getting worse. However, I felt that the editorial I wrote felt more like a rant, which is why I want to revisit it since Frog’s editorial on Moe inspired me to do this.

I tend to like some shows that PA Works makes because their animation quality now rivals Kyoto Animation. However, the execution aspect for some of their shows feels like a mixed bag as seen with Hanasaku Iroha or Another. Despite this, I was impressed with Tari Tari as it was a very enjoyable show without the things that tugged me in the wrong way such as the unnecessary cross-dressing. With Red Data Girl, will I have a similar experience?

Nearly three years ago, the makers of Aria made an original animation adaptation of another Iyasashikei Anime called Tamayura. Although it was short, it had a very light-hearted feeling as the girls focus on their hobbies and of course, making and capturing memories.
A year later, this show finally got a full season, which introduced a few more characters and developed the existing ones further. But, will this be a second coming of Aria?

Unless you are living under the rock, a fellow blogger named zzeroparticle who runs the Anime Instrumentality Blog has created the first tournament for Anime Music. If you like listening to Anime Music like I do, go ahead and nominate your favorite songs. But in this post, I’m going to discuss the top ten songs I nominated. As always, my picks are subjective so you don’t have to agree with them.
So, what criteria did I use for my nomination ballot? First, I only considered opening, insert songs and ending themes for shows I have watched and listened. Second, I also factor in how good the song sounds along with how memorable and enjoyable the song for my nominations. While my choices are biased for recent Anime, hopefully you won’t judge me.

While my post on my Anime Music Tournament nominations is nowhere close to completion, I feel the need to share what will happen late next week and how it’s going to affect my blogging for 11 days. As some might know already, I’m going on vacation starting June 27th until July 7th to the Midwest, namely Chicago and mostly dull Wisconsin. I will also be making updates on Twitter and uploading photos to flickr during my vacation.
Even though I will have Internet all week through hotel wireless and my iPhone, I know that some reviews are going to get delayed because I will be on the road. Because of this, posts for the last episode of Gargantia and Photo Kano will be delayed a little, but I will try to get them up. As for the Neptunia Idol game, which released recently, I will write a review on that once I finish the first play through, which will take some time since I have to translate dialog.
With that out of the way, here are the two shows I plan on doing:
I will watch as many episodes as I can while I’m in the car and then write a full review. Of course, revising it will take some time so don’t expect it right away once I finish all the episodes.
In addition, I will be making a “ask me anything” post where you can ask questions as long it is related to blogging, Anime, or video games, which will stay stick to the front page until I come back. I will check them every day as they come in, so please keep it civil. With that, I hope everyone have a nice and fun summer.
