To prepare for the upcoming competition, the swimming team decides on going to a bunch of islands for a training camp!
After a short break from last week, I never expect that they would have beach episode already. However, compared to other beach episodes, Kou manages to find the training regimen that has swimmers swim to three different deserted islands. With that, the boys spend most of the time swimming while the girls relax.

The thing that bothers me with the boys swimming in the ocean is that its currents are never calm. Considering that all the boys only have experience in the pool, it’s obvious that its’ difficult to swim in the ocean compared to the pool since the currents is always moving and there is a greater possibility of drowning. Since this is Anime logic, I shouldn’t be complaining too much since they will use this for drama.

On the other hand, there is a few interesting development regarding Makoto. Apparently, something happened during his childhood, which makes him very hesitant about going to the island. He shows his uneasiness when Nagisa and Rei hit the ocean for the first time. Maybe he witnessed someone die from drowning in the ocean, which gave him a bad memory of it. To make matters worse, Rei foolishly goes into the ocean during the night and got caught by the current. From this, I think we might see the memory that made Makoto feel uneasy.

Despite the cliffhanger at the end, it’s nice to see that the boys are making significant progress in preparing for the competition. While I enjoyed seeing Kou in a swimsuit, it’s disappointing that the club advisor, Amakata didn’t. At least she looks pretty in the outfit she wore. Even so, hopefully the developments in the next episode will be interesting as the show finally takes a serious turn.
