Last time, Kinako decided to become student council president while completing the for the regionals. Thankfully, thanks to Kinako’s song, they made it to the finals. Meanwhile, Kanon has her study abroad program in Vienna, and the other girls are preparing for nationals.
At last, it’s New Year, and Kanon receives a phone call from Margarete’s older sister. Yep, they are doing the program now, and Kanon had to pack everything haphazardly and get herself to Wein.
It’s nice to see Keke meet Sumire working at the shrine, giving a hand warmer, and having a nice moment between the two. Of course, Kinako is in Hokkaido as the rest of the members in Liella make their New Year’s wishes. They wondered where Kanon had gone, and of course, she had to go to Vienna for her music study program abroad.
After arriving in Vienna, Kanon is lost in a big city, which she calls Chisato. While Chisato seemed impressed by how nice the buildings looked, Kanon panicked as she arrived at her hotel room. When the doorbell rang, it was Margarete’s older sister; apparently, she could speak Japanese. As expected, Kanon eventually feels lonely but manages to pull through in the end. Also, it appears that Chisato’s, Ren’s, and Sumire’s plans are on track. Also, Keke invites her parents to see the nationals for Love Live, and they agree to go.
The most important scene is, of course, Tomari’s interaction with Margarete. After realizing her older sister’s words, she finally understands after participating in the first two rounds of Love Live. She loves school idols, wants to continue her dream, and wants Margarete to come along. She wants Margarete to create a new Liella with her with her voice.
We see a sign of Margarete finally defrosting as she reveals to Tomari and Natsumi that she wants to stay at Yuigaoka so she can keep being a member who shines the most. Yep, that is a sign that perhaps we finally see a redemption of Margarete. She trashed Love Live when she lost and said that Love Live is “full of amateurs.” Eventually, with some help from Kanon, she learns to love Liella and wants to be part of its future. It took a while to get here, but at least seeing a defrosted Margarete was nice.
With that, this leaves the nationals. It’s nice to see the scene of little Kanon waiting for Kanon to come on stage. We see this dream when Kanon wakes up after she returns from the trip. She basically said that singing isn’t scary but fun. With that, Kanon is ready to have fun with her final decision. The performance is excellent, of course, as Liella manages to defy gravity and achieves a successive win. The final episode is, of course, graduation.
