Slow Loop – Episode 10 – Cultural Festival Filled with Fish

March 11, 2022 by Chikorita157 3 Comments
Hiyori really doesn’t want to wear a really frilly outfit, but of course, we know what happens.

At last, the cultural festival is finally here, and Hiyori’s class decides on a class activity. Of course, it involves fishing and cooking. Also, Futaba decides to go fishing with Hiyori.

We find out what Hiyori’s and Koharu’s class does for the cultural festival. With Koharu talking about fishing, it’s obvious it will have a fish theme. As for Hiyori’s and Koi’s class, they are doing a café, Since the girls know that Hiyori works at a restaurant, they want her to help with the waitressing.

Hiyori gives in.

Sure, Hiyori is embarrassed over the idea of wearing a cute frilly outfit, this time, she will wear a kimono. Thankfully, Koi reassures her that it’s okay and she gone numb. Of course, Koharu comes in saying that Hiyori should have a super-frilly apron for her uniform. Yep, Koharu knows best when it comes to fashion.

Yep, it’s obvious that Aiko and Futaba is going strong.

Apparently, Koharu ask about fly fishing and Koi explains the other types of fly fishing, namely tenkara, a method used by fisher man for a long time. Now, it’s just done for fun rather than for work. I guess she wants to ask for more reference for an exhibit based on fishing. Yes, including parasites that you will find in your gas-station sushi. With the mention of a haunted house, Koharu got the idea to make it creepy as she makes the models for the exhibit.

There is more where that came from.

Meanwhile, it seems that Futaba won the prefectural writing contest. Obviously, Aiko seems happy that Futaba won, but Futaba seems anxious and for a good reason. Yep, she is bad at speaking in front of an audience, and she is not sure she can do it. I find it cute how Aiko wants to make a cute and special outfit for Futaba and asks about recording it. Yep, it’s obvious that Futaba and Aiko pairing is strong.

Hiyori tries a different type of fishing.

After pondering whether she should do it, Hiyori calls her. Yep, she invited her to do a different kind of fishing. After all, she is catching special fish to serve in the café. It’s obvious that Hiyori is new at reel fishing compared to her usual fly fishing.

Futaba teaches Hiyori reel fishing.
Yep, Hiyori figured out how to get around her bug fears.

It’s nice to see Futaba teach Hiyori how to use a reel line with a sabiki rig. Either way, it seems that Hiyori got the hang of it. That is until an old couple offered them. Sure, Hiyori freaks out of bugs, but thankfully Futaba suggested pliers. Believe it or not, it worked. It’s good that Hiyori doesn’t need to worry about Koharu laughing at her for fearing bugs or having Futaba hook the worm.

Either way, Hiyori and Futaba caught a lot of fish, but Futaba didn’t ask Hiyori for advice. Believe it or not, she made it through her speech.

Koharu’s parents looks more disgusted than scared.
Yep, Hiyori’s mother really likes how cute her daughter is.

In the end, Hiyori’s and Koharu’s parents saw both of their daughter’s class exhibit. Yep, Koharu made a scary exhibit showing parasites. While detailed, I can see why not too many people came since they look disgusting. This compares to Hiyori as she looks cute. As expected, her mother took a lot of pictures.

Futaba shows how happy she is managing to do her speech. Sadly, she was too late to get that special meal.
This looks like a confession of some sort.
Obviously, Aiko shows some feeling of envy.

Eventually, Futaba and Aiko came by, but sadly they ran out of fish to serve. With that, Futaba asks Hiyori about fishing together again. As expected, it looks so much like a confession that Aiko got a bit jealous but wanting to tag along too. That is meanwhile Koharu becoming sulky over hardly any people coming to see her exhibit. I can see why since her exhibits, while detailed look disgusting rather than creepy.

Aiko loves her some Futaba. Understandably so because Futaba’s precious. Excited to learn the real reason next time.

I would have checked out Koharu’s class exhibit. Looked creepy but interesting.

Since that faithful moment at the amusement park, I agree it’s nice too see Aiko being closer to Futaba. It will be good to see more next episode.

Still, have to give props with the amount of detail Koharu put into the exhibit.
