Now that Kanon and her friends finds out that Ren has money troubles that can affect the school, can they change her mind about school idols?
It’s obvious that Ren is going through a lot. Besides making an announcement to focus the school festival on the music program, there are the money problems and the school’s future. After all, without enough students, it’s obvious where this is heading. Things are made worse with her mother passed away from overwork and her father is living overseas. It’s quite a dilemma indeed. Despite this, Ren wants Kanon and her friends to keep this a secret.
As expected, the situation is not getting any better. The general curriculum students now have a bad taste in their mouth for Ren reneging on her campaign promises. The general curriculum students showed the signatures on the petition. Of course, with the school director getting frustrated with this situation, she told Ren that she will pull the plug on the cultural festival. It’s obvious that Kanon and her friends are under a lot of pressure from her classmates to do something.
As expected, it seems that Ren came to see Kanon and her friends at the School Idol Club room. Of course, she will do anything but become a school idol. From this, we find out the reason why Ren is so against the idea of school idols. Yes, you would have thought that Ren has too much pride to go through the saving the school by becoming school idols. After all, two other schools already did this with varying results.
Believe it or not, that is not that reason. The reason why Ren doesn’t like that idea is because of her mother. Her mother became school idols with a bunch of friends to save a school she cherished. Yes, this is before school idols became very popular. However, she couldn’t save the school. Ren tried to find pictures of her mother doing school idol but couldn’t find it. From this, Ren thought that her mother resented the idea of school idols from the lack of photos.
Thankfully, after Kanon and her friends search the school archives, the answer was in the closet of the School Idol club room all this time. The photo album was in a chest. There is a diary containing all the memories Ren’s mother had been a school idol. Of course, they continued to be school idols despite the school ultimately closing. Still, her mother also wanted to create a school to connect everyone through music regardless of programs. In other words, Ren’s hatred for school idols was a big misunderstanding.
Either way, Ren finally knows that her mother enjoyed being a school idol. Believe it or not, it’s one of her best memories. In other words, Ren eventually reversed her decision and decided to help Kanon and her friends out by becoming a school idol. Still, it’s quite amazing how the students managed to set up everything. Either way, the performance went well after Kanon and her friends prepared before the festival happened.
Of course, I felt that the headmistress probably hinted at something since the beginning. After all, she is willing to allow Kanon and Keke to make a school idol club despite Ren’s disapproval. The headmistress also gave the keys to the club room to Ren, the same one headmistress and Ren’s mother used. Makes you wonder if she knew anything about this. Believe it or not, she managed the club for Ren’s mother back in the day.
Aside from that, with the ensemble complete, the hard part begins. Yes, making themselves known to everyone to attract more students.
Good to learn the truth and seeing Ren join the team at last.
The Headmistress being Hana’s biggest fan is highly likely.
Excited to see how they come up with the name Liella.
At least it’s good to know the reason behind Ren being against school idols, although it’s a big misunderstanding. Still, it’s good that she finally joins. But still, it’s obvious to see why the Headmistress is willing to allow a school idol club.
Should be interesting how they will come up with the unit name next time.
