Fall 2021 Anime Season Preview and Blog Updates

September 20, 2021 by Chikorita157 2 Comments

Artist: あおい青羽@2日目東r-30b

With a very busy summer comes to an end, it’s time to share a few picks for the Fall season and some life updates.

Selection Project

Air Date: October 1, 2021

Studio: Doga Kobo

I know that I tend to enjoy watching idol genre shows. This time, the premise is different as Miyama Suzune wants to become an idol. That is after watching Amazawa Akari’s performance when she was in the hospital. Judging from the synopsis, Suzune must compete in a competition to become a member of an idol unit. Yep, it should be interesting how she tries to make her dream come true in a cutthroat industry.

Puraore! Pride of Orange

Air Date: October 6, 2021

Studio: C2C

Believe it or not, this may be the first schoolgirl anime that focuses on ice hockey. As always, it will be interesting how the team will come together along with the actual matches.

Yakunara Mug Cup Mo Second Season

Air Date: October 2, 2021

Studio: Nippon Animation

I didn’t expect a second season so soon, but it happened. However, it’s not too surprising since it’s an anime short series. Still, I wonder how Himeno will improve her craft along with the usual antics from Mika. Also, there is apparently a new character possibly joining the club, whose character is voiced by the same voice actress for Fujima Sakura.

Leftovers: Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai, Shiroi Suna no Aquatope, Magia Record (resuming end of this year), Love Live Superstar

Blog and Life Updates

August and September have been a very busy month. Not too surprising since I’m covering 6 shows in one season. This is something I don’t usually do since at most, I cover 3-4 shows. This of course slowed down any other content that don’t involve anime reviews.

Hopefully this fall, since I am covering fewer full 24-minute shows, maybe I can focus on other content. Still, I don’t know when the return to the office will happen. It seems that it got pushed back until next year due to the Delta variant. Even if it happens eventually, I will only go into the office only a few days a week and telework the rest. Moreover, I now have a data plan with tethering, so I can still create content regardless of if there is wi-fi or not.

Also, I plan to review the following hopefully by the end of October/Early November:

  • Gakkou Gurashi (Anime)
  • Gakkou Gurashi (Live Action. Yes, an official localized release came out recently)
  • Blue Reflection (video game, Guest review)

Not only that, Idolmaster Starlit Season comes out in a few weeks. I plan to use screenshots and Yomiwa app to get through it. Hopefully the Apple Silicon 16-inch MacBook Pros will come out later this fall so I can replace the inferior Intel MacBook Pro I have and the external GPU on my desk.

Of course, I haven’t forgotten the suggestions I received in the last monthly digest post. I’m so busy that I didn’t have the time to go over them. I will share my thoughts probably sometime next month when I have free time.

Effective last week, my blog posts will no longer appear in the tags or search results on WordPress.com Reader. I just had enough of Spam Likers trying to advertise their spam blogs that it’s not worth having a Jetpack plan. Since November 2020, there are 55 spam likes. If Automattic isn’t going to do anything about the rampant spamming on their platform, why should I give them money? Also, the plan I was using is rendered useless as I now pay for daily backups on my virtual private server.

Regardless, you can still subscribe to my blog using WordPress.com. However, this doesn’t mean that WordPress Likes are returning since they are not. I want people to leave comments to add to the discussion to the reviews or leave reactions. With that, please refrain from using the like feature on WordPress.com Reader for my posts. Regardless, I am happy that the number of interactions through comments has improved a lot during the past few months. I hope this trend continues.

Aside from that, I visited my parents and took time off during my birthday. Yes, we had a special meal, but of course the air conditioning at my parent’s house stopped working. They replaced it. That is until whatever left of Ida hit New Jersey badly. While my father accidentally drove into a flooded street. Thankfully, the flood wasn’t deep and only damaged the sensors, which the insurance paid for the repairs.

With that, this is what I plan to watch for the Fall. Feel free to share what you plan to watch soon in the comments.

My plan on anime series will diverge from you next season. I plan on watching Yuuki yuna is a hero, mieruko-chan, jobless reincarnation, ousama ranking plus my senpai is annoying.

As for episode reviews I will cut down my count from the current 5 to 3 or even 2 series as I need to rebalance my time. The hope is to do more reviews and perhaps post anime news stories. Speaking of reviews I could offer a guest post with a review. I am planning on writing a review for seasons 2 of Kobayashi and magia records. When aquatope finishes I will do that one too so if you don’t have time to post reviews for those series I could help chip in.

Any how keep up the good work!

As always you picked some shows I’ll cover too. They look easy to enjoy. We still got Aquatope and Jahy too so fun will be had still.
