Love Live! Superstar!! – Episode 9 – The Quest To Find a Group Name

September 28, 2021 by Chikorita157 3 Comments
Keke was waiting for this time and it finally came.

Now that Ren joins the School Idol Club after finding out that her mother enjoyed being a school idol, here comes the hard part. Yes, coming up a new name for the group.

It’s obvious that after looking at the phone, Keke become excited. That day finally came as next Love Live competition is finally going to start. Yep, this is going to be the thing that will save the school and Keke knows it well.

Keke shows more enthusiasm for Love Live.

Of course, Keke shared the big news to Kanon and her friends. She had to point out that several schools became famous when they are on the blink of closing. Of course, Sumire calls it a amateur competition. As expected, Keke brings out the projector to show the big stadium where the finals for Love Live will happen. This gets Sumire excited for the attention she might receive. Of course, it can’t be that easy to get there.

Kanon notices something off with Ren’s school uniform.

As expected, Kanon eventually notices something is off with Ren. Yep, she is wearing the general curriculum school uniform. Ren reveals that the director changes the rules to add more equality to all students. It’s not too surprising considering the big splat that happen with Ren’s initial decision with the school festival.

Chisato takes a stab at name brainstorming.

As Kanon and friends soon find out, they need to come up with a name of their group. Keke’s new group name, Chikerekasu sounds like a curse. Also, Chisato’s name of calling the group Maru Maru Circle sounds kind of lame and probably not as round as a Wooloo. Of course, Ren has some ideas written, but too shy to share them. Kanon of course couldn’t come up with anything.

The girls of course try other ideas. Of course, they couldn’t get any suggestions thanks to Ren initial opposition to school idols. Kanon eventually asks Yuna and Mao for suggestions. Apparently, they picked a name from the fan suggestions. After talking it over with her friends, they decide to do a live stream with their fans. As seen in the video call that Kanon had with her members, Ren didn’t have her camera on.

Ren obviously doesn’t know what live streaming is all about.
The live stream was a mistake.

As expected, Kanon and her friends decide to have Ren do a live stream. Ren of course doesn’t know how live streaming works. It’s surprising since the younger generation would be tech savvy. Apparently, her parents told her not to trust technology. Eventually, Kanon, Chisato, Keke, and Sumire joins in, and the stream went as expected. It’s a complete disaster.

Obviously, Kanon wanted a break, but her friends won’t let her.
No escaping now!

Eventually, Ren, Chisato, Keke, and Sumire locks Kanon in a bedroom at Ren’s mansion. Yep, she is not leaving until she comes up with a good name. Of course, Kanon fooled around and eventually laid on a bed, which is funny. Eventually, her friends find out and observed her at the desk. It was a fruitless attempt, but Kanon keeps trying.

At last, it’s decided!

Kanon ended up not coming up with anything until several days later. This is when she decides on the name along with the lyrics for the new song. She reveals it and it’s Liella! She based it off the French word, relier means to connect. Not too surprising since they want to connect everything with the colors of the rainbow using the power of school idols. With that, the hard part comes. Yes, preparing for the preliminaries.

Glad to see the gang all together now. Ren’s true self is as wonderful as expected.

    Cool Liella name origin.

Yes, I can’t get enough how Ren is hopeless with tech, when young people are supposed to be good at using them. Hopefully she can break that mold eventually.
