Love Live! Superstar!! – Episode 5 – Fun on an Island

August 24, 2021 by Chikorita157 3 Comments
Chisato is not sure about participating in a dance competition.

At last, Sumire joins the school idol club. Of course, Kanon and her friends find out that it’s too hot to practice outside.

Chisato finishes her daily practice. Apparently, her instructor wants her to participate in a competition. She feels a bit troubled as she looks at the calendar. It’s obvious that she is not too sure about participating. More on that later.

Apparently, Kanon and her friends wanted to practice outside. As expected, with the summer heat, especially on the roof top, it’s too hot. Keke finds out the hard way when she pretended to feel all right but passes out in the summer heat. That is after she bickered with Sumire.

Sumire is not happy that Kanon leaked her secret to Keke.

Of course, we hear the bickering between Sumire who badmouths the Love Live competition. She said it’s a competition for amateurs, which gets Keke worked up. That is until she brings up Sumire’s role that she doesn’t want mentioned. Yep, she didn’t react well to it at all to Kanon. Still, it’s obvious that Kanon, Sumire, and Keke needs to get ready. To make matters worse, there is no air conditioning in the club room.

As expected, the summer heat is too hot, especially on the roof.

Yep, with no alternatives, they went to Kanon’s family café. Sure, they can’t practice there since the space is small. However, a special customer appears. It’s no other than Sunny Paradise. Yuuna and Mao finally introduces themselves. As expected, Keke is a bit enthusiastic to meet them in person.

It’s obvious who pays a visit.
Keke’s reaction is predictable.

Since Yuuna and Mao liked the performance Kanon and Keke did at the competition, they want to do something special. They invited Kanon and her friends to the island to participate in a performance there. Yep, they even did a special performance at Sumire’s family shrine. As expected, it’s funny to see Keke fawn over Yuuna’s and Mao’s performance with a framed poster of their unit.

Yuuna and Mao reveals to Chisato that Kanon and Keke can’t handle Love Live on their own.

Before Mao and Yuuna left, she talked with Chisato. Chisato asks if they can win Love Live. They told them what they think about their performance, but they believe Kanon and Keke will struggle. While great at singing, they don’t think that they can danced well on their own. Yep, they noticed that Chisato was helping them out. With her not being part of the group, it will become difficult for them to motivate themselves. That is unless Chisato joins Kanon’s group.

Kanon is acting funny for some reason.
Time to have some fun, on an island.

As expected, after Chisato sees her friends off, it’s obvious that Kanon is acting funny. While Sumire is sleeping, Sumire notices that Kanon is missing. Yep, she is outdoor trying to figure out lyrics. When they got there, Mao and Yuuna pushes Kanon and her friends relax first. Yep, we get to see Kanon and Keke reluctant to jump into the pool, until Sumire pushes them down.

As expected, Sumire decides to cheat.

I find it funny how Sumire and Keke tries to decide who will get to sleep alone. Yep, Keke becomes self-confident in the finger wresting game and Sumire cheats. They end up sharing a bed. Of course, Keke notices that Kanon is not in the bed.

Yep, Kanon and Keke finds out that they really need Chisato.

As expected, she is on the beach trying to come up with lyrics. It’s obvious that what Mao and Yuuna noticed about Kanon’s and Keke’s performance are coming true. They can’t survive without Chisato being around. This is when Keke asks Kanon about inviting Chisato to the group. From this, I have a feeling that she will meet up with them, eventually. We’ll find out in two/three weeks.

That was a sweet trick Sumire pulled to beat Keke in thumb wrestling. Closest we got to the promised land in the franchise so far.

Hopefully we’ll get another swimsuit episode featuring Chisato and Ren.

Looking forward to Chisato’s decision next episode.

Definitely a good way to one up Keke, despite her hating Sumire for bad mouthing school idols. Still, curious what Chisato’s decision next time.
