While Kanon and Keke didn’t win first place, to Hazuki’s horror, they get to open the club anyway.
Yep, I didn’t expect the director to give Kanon and Keke a pass. Sure, Sunny Paradise won first place. However, since they won the newcomer award, it’s enough for them to form a club. As expected, Hazuki seems very bitter over them forming a school idol club. She must really hate school idols or have a vendetta against them. Let’s face it, she is bound to give in, eventually,
With that, Sumire seems interested in joining the school idol club. After all, her acting career isn’t going so well. Just recently, someone scouted her for a role. Of course, they want her to do a minor role. She is not having it at all and rejects it.
Meanwhile, Kanon, Keke, and Chisato goes to the club room. Yep, it’s on the top floor. I find it funny how Chisato spooks Kanon out thinking the club room is haunted. Standing there is Sumire, who wants to join the School Idol Club. She also shows her moves.
Believe it or not, she gives a talk about the center of an idol group, basically the leader. Of course, Keke and Chisato thinks its Kanon. Sumire thinks it should be someone talented.
To settle this, Chisato had an election. Of course, Sumire thought she would win. The funny thing is that she received no votes and Kanon received the most. Not too surprising since Kanon is the leader of the group and proved herself. Also liked how Keke received two votes more than Sumire. Then again, it’s a popularity contest after all.
Either way, Sumire doesn’t seem happy that she is not getting the leading role in the group and decides to quit. After all, if she can’t become the center, she doesn’t want to be a part of it. This is not too surprising since we later find out, her child acting career wasn’t too successful. She is stuck doing minor roles, including that cringeworthy Isopod gig. Yes, this is worse than what Roko went through with her Broko act. My guess is that Roko might have a marginally successful child acting career compared to Sumire.
Of course, Kanon saw that embarrassing video. Sumire decides to kidnap her and try to get her to forget about this. Of course, she can’t forget that song after Sumire starts singing it in shrine maiden attire. While Kanon say she will keep this a secret, she just wanted to ask Sumire why she wants to become the center so badly.
This is when she revealed her dream of becoming a star but stuck in minor roles. Yep, she thought that with her skills, she can beat others in the school idol game since she views them as amateurs. She wants to become the center to further her career. Of course, she doesn’t realize that there are talented people who are school idols. As expected, Keke took offence to her remarks and want to take it out on her. After all, school idols are not merely amateurs.
In the end, Kanon eventually seeks Sumire out after she left the roof top. That is after Keke tells her off. Yep, Kanon finds Sumire watching the promotional videos and tries to scout her. Kanon admits that she relates to her given her anxiety at first from her crippling anxiety. Kanon believes that Sumire can overcome her inability to stand out. If she can overcome her anxiety, Sumire can stand out more as well. Still, I find it funny how Sumire demands money and Kanon only gives her the same lucky charm. Even so, I wonder what Sumire can contribute to the group. We’ll see.
As others mentioned Sumire and Roko’s backstories were similar and they share many similarities. Very cool. Sumire is another great addition as expected.
Ren will eventually accept her destiny.
Yep, they are too similar, but hopefully Sumire will have better luck as a school idol. But we only need Ren to make the jump, eventually.
