Granbelm – Episode 12 – Start of the Final Battle

September 21, 2019 by Chikorita157 2 Comments
It seems that Suishou is not happy that nobody could defeat her.

It’s the final battle and will Ernesta defeat Suishou the final boss?

From two episodes ago, it’s quite obvious that Suishou is not human. When Kuon tried to finish her off, she wouldn’t die. We know why. Suishou is there to test people to see if the mage has enough to become the Princeps Mage. Sadly, after 1000 years, no one was able to defeat her. This causes Suishou to become upset as she still hasn’t won yet. After all, she has to prove that there is no mage that can defeat her to become Princeps Mage by default.

Suishou finally arrives to fight.

Still, it’s not surprising to see why Suishou is this crazy. After all, she experienced 1000 years of mages challenging her. You would probably feel the same way if you are doing this for that long. This can explain her personality. Not only that, the Granbelm still continued despite Suishou believing that there is absolutely no one that can defeat her. Maybe the Magiaconatus tricked her into believing this and treat her role as a final test. I  believe this from what we already know about her.

It looks like Ernesta fell into Suishou’s trap.

The battle is what you would expect. Suishou got caught off guard as Suishou manages to capture her. When one of Ernesta’s Armanox’s arms got destroyed, Mangetsu went berserk. Meanwhile, thanks to Nene’s magic, Ernesta tricked Suishou into thinking that she defeated her. In reality, she is still very much alive. She waits until she can do the finishing move on Suishou.

Mangetsu isn’t giving up.

With that, Mangetsu gives it her best despite Suishou putting her down for being a doll. Mangetsu is Ernesta’s feelings after all. She will give it all until the end. It’s not too surprising since Ernesta created her after all.

Ernesta finds out that Mangetsu’s sacrifice wasn’t enough to defeat Suishou.

Eventually, Mangetsu went into her final form and sacrifices herself to do a finishing blow on Suishou. Sadly, it wasn’t enough to defeat her. As Mangetsu vanishes, Ernesta tears up. This makes me wonder that after she finishes the job to defeat Suishou, will she find a way to bring Mangetsu back over having her wish granted? We’ll find out for sure next time. Hopefully, everything will work out in the end.

It’s not too surprising, but hopefully there will be a good ending after all the despair for Ernesta.
