Dumbbell Nan Kilo Moteru? – Episode 12 (END) – Talent Contest in Paradise

September 18, 2019 by Chikorita157 2 Comments
They changed their minds just like that.

Apparently, the Silverman Gym will have a 3-day tour at Nikunoshima Island. Also, Jason and the producer wants to record it to make it into a TV production. It doesn’t go well as planned.

At last, it’s spring break. Sure, Zina and Ayaka is going, but it appears that Akemi and Hibiki have other plans. The funny thing is that when Machio mentions the contest and various events, they changed their mind. Maybe Akemi and Hibiki wants to face off each other off again or enjoy paradise. After all, their match during their relay didn’t go so well. After all, the teacher disqualified Hibiki for dropping and picking up the baton.

Thankfully, Nikunoshima is a tropical island. You know what this means? Yes, it’s a beach episode and it’s nice to see everyone in their swimsuits. In fact, this episode makes up for the beach episode that didn’t happen a few episodes back. The funny thing is that the girls want to smash a watermelon with a wooden sword. Machio wanted to smash a watermelon, but he bounced it on his shoulders instead. This makes you wonder if he was going to crush the watermelon in the first place.

Akemi is obviously prepared.
It appears Zina lost her mojo.
Ayaka takes a risky approach, but fails.
Akemi shows her skills.
As expected, Hibiki sticks to her punching skills.

Of course, there is a contest, which is the main event. Sadly, none of the male participants shown up. In other words, that contest didn’t happen. Now, for the female division, it’s time for Zina, Ayaka, Akemi and Hibiki to show what they got. It seems that Cystal Garson, who is also Russian outshined Zina. In other words, Zina didn’t stand out much and lost. Also, Ayaka try to do something bold and show off her talent while wearing a skimpy swimsuit. That apparently was too much and she got disqualified.

It looks like hunger took a toll on Hibiki.
With that, Akemi is the winner.

In other words, Akemi and Hibiki are the only serious contenders. Akemi showed her handstand pushup and Hibiki shows her godlike punching skills with a punching bag. When they faced off in the final round lifting dumbbells, Hibiki lost all her energy from hunger. In other words, Akemi won just like that. I know she is somewhat disappointed that she can’t face off Hibiki for real. As they say, a victory is a victory after all.

It looks like not Arnold had to save a boat.

In the end, we find out what happened to the producer and Jason. Apparently, their boat broke down and they became stranded. Not Arnold had to rescue them. Well, there goes that Nikushima recording. Better luck next time.

Final Impressions

Overall, Dumbbell Nan Kilo Moteru is a surprisingly enjoyable show about girls getting fit. Sure, the male trainer concerned a few, but thankfully there is no romance besides Akemi obsessing over muscles. The characters are very enjoyable. It is very educational while being entertaining about the subject matter of exercising in a very similar way like GA Geijutsuka Art Design Class with art. With Doga Kobo being masters with school girl anime, this show is an enjoyable show to watch.

I will miss the sexiness, muscles and nonstop hilarity.

Best girl is Ayaka followed by Hibiki.

Mr Machio is someone I aspire to one day become.

    The cameos were glorious.

Not interested in the manga because this anime gave me all I needed. Bless it.
