Now that Shamiko managed to undo one of the seals and accomplished her original quest, Seiko, Shamiko’s mother throws a celebration.
I have to admit that it’s funny to see the recap of Shamiko’s adventure so far. Lilith glorifies Shamiko’s adventures so far as she goes on an adventure to lift the curse by defeating a magical girl. She befriends Momo during her adventure. As expected, Shamiko complains about how unrealistic it is. Still, it’s funny how Lilith paints the ancestor’s statue in gold and say that it’s just a dream.
As Shamiko walks to school, Momo said good morning to her. It seems that she went to the convenience store to get food. While Shamiko won’t admit it, she seems worried about her. No, it’s not because she wants to steal more magic from her. Still, it appears that Shamiko wants to learn how to cook meals for her.
Meanwhile, Seiko receives a call from the police. I find Shamiko’s reaction to what happens afterwards hilarious. Apparently, someone found the wallet in a gutter containing a substantial amount of money. Are these signs that the 40,000 yen a month curse is waning? Probably, but then again, the curse is very dubious to begin with if the dark clan just being really clumsy.
To celebrate, Seiko bought a lot of food to celebrate the occasion as she breaks out the hot plate. It’s understandable that Seiko didn’t go crazy with the food to save money. What is interesting is that Shamiko decides to help her mother cook some food. It’s quite obvious by now that she wants to make a meal for Momo to impress her. Either way, her mother is impressed that her daughter befriended Momo to release the seal instead of defeating her. While Shamiko denies being friends, it’s quite obvious that she is more than best friends with Momo.
The funny thing is that after eating, Shamiko and her mother finds out that their refrigerator died. This makes me wonder if their curse caused this to happen or it’s just a coincidence. I think it’s more of the latter. Still, it’s nice for Shamiko’s mother to cook all that food so Shamiko can give it to Momo and told her that she helped out cooking it. After all, it probably tastes better than what Momo usually eats. Still, it’s cute how Shamiko becomes flustered before she says goodbye to Momo.
Eventually, Momo became healthy again and thanks Shamiko for the food. Now, she decides to train Shamiko by trying a rope around her to a huge tire. This is what you called going too overboard with the training besides taking a steadier approach.
It’s not too surprising to see this happen since Momo can use strength and magic to lift heavy objects. Still, I think it’s counterproductive to have Shamiko train with a huge tire. Despite this, I find it funny how Shamiko still wants Momo to show the “Fresh Peach Heart Shower.” I guess it’s still too embarrassing for Momo to use as she refuses. Anri eventually shows up and gives some suggestions to Momo in regards to training. The funny thing is that she also suggests her doing things like bungee jumping or standing under a waterfall. I think this would cause more trauma for Shamiko than help her.
After Anri left, Momo have Shamiko get two Strawberry stuffed mochi balls. Somehow, Shamiko manages to not get one, but two. Shamiko thinks that she one upped Momo until she gives her one. Thankfully, Shamiko seems to like it after she bite in one. Still, I wonder why Momo suddenly want one. Apparently, she avoided eating them because it reminds her of the past. I wondered what happened that lost her desire to eat them. Not only that, her sister used to like them.
Talking about Momo’s sister, she is not blood related. However, we finally get to see her wearing a magical girl dress that contains colors from an orange. She saves Shamiko who is working as a mascot from falling into a water fountain. Sure, the magical girl’s sight triggered Shamiko, but she is probably there for a reason. Is she Momo’s sister? We’ll find out next time.
ShamiMomo growing stronger each episode. Wonder how they’ll fare when Orange Hair debuts next time.
Lilith should be in charge of recaps from now on.
Imouto is wonderful.
Anri is a fascinating creature.
No doubt and as a result, Shamiko becomes more like a tsundere would. Yes, Ryoko is precious cinnamon bun.
