Machikado Mazoku – Episode 8 – Mikan, the Cursed and Unfortunate Magical Girl

August 29, 2019 by Chikorita157 3 Comments
Shamiko is scared for some reason. It’s easy to see why.

A mysterious magical girl appears to saves Shamiko from falling into a pool. Seeing her causes Shamiko to cower in fear.

As expected, a magical girl named Mikan saved Shamiko in a mascot costume from falling into the fountain. As expected, Shamiko becomes scared since Mikan brings her to a back alley. Mikan wants to take off Shamiko’s outfit since she sounds very suspicious. It’s understandable since Mikan is a magical girl after all. Shamiko refuses before Mikan forces it off and sees a girl with horns.

Mikan becomes suspicious while Shamiko becomes scared.
Shamiko in her Crisis Mode again, embarassed.
At least Mikan is nice to give Shamiko something to cover her bare body up.

With that, Shamiko transformed into her Crisis Form and becomes embarrassed. Mikan obviously don’t want Shamiko to strip. Thankfully, she is kind enough to hand her a cape to cover it up. Momo eventually arrives and reveals that Mikan is her friend that came to help her out. Of course, how Momo said that a demon girl took her magic and that she lifted the barrier caused a big misunderstanding.  Mikan thought that there was a demon that lost its heart and become like Baphomet on the loose. Thankfully, that is not the case.

Shamiko doesn’t like how Mikan is the same age as her.

The funny thing is that while Momo said Shamiko is harmless, Shamiko sees Mikan as a rival. After finding out that Mikan is the same age as her, she said her usual catchphrase in response as she runs away. I find it funny how Mikan realizes that Shamiko is the same age as her. She could of said it in a better way.

Anri taking a picture of Momo’s misfortune.

The next day, Mikan finally runs into Yuko cleaning up the garbage. I find it funny how Mikan tried to throw away the ancestor statue away. It appears that Mikan is transferring into the same school as Momo and Shamiko. She and Lilith are surprised becomes surprised. Shamiko thought that Mikan is an ordinary girl when she prefers flowers over dumbbells.

Surprisingly, Mikan is more unfortunate compared to Aru and An combined.

Sadly, Mikan is not that ordinary. When Shamiko is about to finish cleaning up, Mikan becomes nervous. Apparently, she go haywire as the trash popped out of the bag everywhere. When Momo arrived, she was too late.

Apparently due to some incident, Mikan became cursed. In other words, misfortune ensues to people connected to Mikan when she becomes nervous or excited. In a way, her situation is very similar to Shamiko’s, but worse. If you thought Shamiko had it bad, Mikan have it worse. This is no wonder a lot of bad stuff happened to Momo because of Mikan. You can deal with financial issues, but not misfortune.

This makes me wonder if Mikan threw away Shamiko’s ancestor statue in the garbage on purpose.

What is funny is Mikan thought CDs and good luck charms will reduce the effects. Still, I highly doubt it. While they managed to clean up the garbage, I find it funny how the ancestor’s statue ended up in the trash. I bet Mikan did that on purpose to make Shamiko upset.

This is probably not the time for Shamiko to see Momo’s Fresh Peach Heart Shower skill.

The next day, Mikan joins Momo and Shamiko for their usual training. Apparently, Momo wants to see Shamiko’s Crisis Mode as part of the training. Momo offered to transform too. While she did, Shamiko had trouble transforming since she is not in danger. Still I find it funny how Momo is willing to use the Fresh Peach Heart Shower that Shamiko wanted to see last time. Of course, since Momo is using this skill power on Shamiko, she becomes afraid. Surprisingly, Momo becomes exhausted while trying to use the skill.

Shamiko promising to Momo to work harder for her sake.

Mikan finally reveals what happens if Momo lost all her magic. This is probably the reason Momo wants Shamiko to help her out She reveals that if Momo loses all her magic, their body will completely disappear. While they don’t die, their soul becomes scattered apart. This can explain why Momo hid this fact, which causes Shamiko to become remorseful for taking the blood.

At last, Shamiko did it, but she is super embarassed and upset.

Now that Shamiko realizes the truth, she wants to help Momo even more. When Momo scares Shamiko, she manages to transform. Of course, she cries and run away in embarrassment. Hopefully someday, Shamiko will find a way to use her Crisis Form at will. Either way, there is no denying that she has romantic feelings for Momo.

Yes, Mikan is a nice addition. It’s not too surprising to see her not target Shamiko, but willing to help her. The funny thing is that she says the usual catchphrase.

Yes, Shamiko transforming causing her to become embarrassed, but she will get used to it, eventually.
