With the national tournament in a few weeks, Kogetsu High wants to challenge Tsubasa’s team in a practice match. Tsubasa accepts, but it seems that someone planned this all along.
From last time, a blonde hair twin-tailed girl named Kousaka Tsubaki decided to challenge Tsubasa’s team. Believe it or not, Tsubaki is apparently the ace of the team, meaning it might be difficult to win. While Tsubasa announces the field positions, apparently Akane and Tomoe are base coaches. Sure, this might upset Tomoe, but she eventually accepted it. Nakano also created a book on the rival team’s play style so they can see through their strategies.
From the looks of it, it seems that Tsubasa’s team’s practice paid off or that Tsubaki’s team is really clumsy. While Tsubaki’s team only scored one point, Tsubasa manages to score three points. However, most of the innings were a stalemate until Tsubaki switches things up. When Tsubasa couldn’t bat a home run and didn’t make to first base, Akane started to lose confidence. She believes this is her fault.
It’s easy to beat yourself up when something unfortunate happens. Everyone makes mistakes, but it shouldn’t become a setback. Sure, Akane is probably the shyest girl who don’t have much confidence in herself. However, she shouldn’t let this setback cause her to give up. Thankfully, Tsubasa reminded the time when she worked to build the baseball association. Thanks to her, Tsubasa was happy there were girls like her and tells her not to give up.
Thankfully, Tsubasa’s team was able to regain the lead from a tie. It seems that from Tsubasa’s pep talk, Akane was happy how things turn out in the end. On the other hand, Tsubaki’s team wasn’t able to catch up since her team members played sloppily.
In the end, Tsubasa’s team won by one point. At least Akane is happy that she played a part in the team’s comeback. I guess Tsubaki should learn that there is no such thing as an ace in any sport. After all, if you have a team with all unexperienced players except for one, it’s most likely going to be a losing battle. Aside from that, it’s nice to see Akane hug Tsubasa after they won. At least now, she won’t consider giving up since everyone has her back. ¶
