Love Live Sunshine!! Second Season – Episode 7 – The Surprising Outcome

November 18, 2017 by chikorita157 1 Comment

Chika is surprised that her group made it.

From last time, Aqours performed at nationals. Did they make it and is it enough to save the school?

After the amount of effort Chika put into perfecting the purposively impossible and dangerous dance formations, it paid off. Aqours achieved first place and the performance video is receiving a lot of views. You might be asking to yourself, is this enough to save the school?

The girls are in disbelief as the school didn’t receive enough applications.

In reality, it’s simply not enough. Even after the performance, the number of potential applicants did not change at all. Even after the extension, the school only managed to receive only 18 new applicants from 80 to 98 by the deadline. They were only two enough, but it’s obvious that the performance at nationals weren’t enough. Still, I wonder why the deadline wasn’t until midnight the next day instead of 5 in the morning. Most people aren’t going to fill out an application overnight.

Either way, there is nothing Mari can do to convince her father given that she already received 2 extensions. In other words, Chika and her friends couldn’t save the school. This means two things. Uranohoshi will merge with another school and Aqours will most certainly disband. I don’t blame them as not too many girls are willing to go this far just to attend school there. Girls who are looking at schools are probably looking for education quality opposed to the idol group’s appeal.

While Mari is very upset, Chika becomes distraught. Probably more so that she wanted to say that she wants to disband Aqours or give up on Love Live. Thankfully, the girls stopped her and decide to end practice and think things over. Sadly, things don’t get better the next day. While Chika feels okay, she eventually breaks down. She thinks that doing the finals for Love Live is pointless now. Even if they win, it’s not going to save the school.

The whole school is behind Aqours despite them not being able to save the school.

I understand how upset she is since there are things that she cannot change. While she can’t change reality, there is one thing that she can do. She can make Aqours win Love Live and make their mark in history. Even if the school doesn’t exist, the memories will. Thankfully, the students convince her this given the amount of effort to help Aqours to become successful. With that, this should definitely give the girls the incentive to win Love Live and of course, defeat Saint Snow. ¶
