As Tohru prepares a special omurice, Kobayashi dreams about something in the past. What is it?
In the morning, Tohru offers to make dinner for Kobayashi. Of course, Tohru can’t use her tail as an ingredient. In short, Tohru decides to cook something she wants to eat for dinner. She decides on omurice and she has to do a good job making it.
Sadly, her first attempt tasted average. After trying to buy better chicken and finding out that it’s too expensive, she goes to extremes. Yes, she went to her world to get ingredients. In other words, she brought back exotic eggs, water, meat and fruit. It’s obvious that Kobayashi will freak out, but she still finds it delicious. Even so, she can’t bring herself to say it’s good for obvious reasons.
Before Kobayashi ate that dinner, she had a flashback during the train ride. She remembers the time she met Tohru. It’s surprising that Tohru had a completely different personality when they first met. As expected, Kobayashi was drunk while she interacted with her. Somehow, she manages to take a sword out of Tohru and even offers her a drink. Afterwards, she talks about maids. Of course, this can explain why Tohru decides to become a maid.
Then again, Tohru heard about maids before she met Kobayashi. When a young thief girl came out of hiding, she decides to hang out with Tohru. Eventually, the girl asked about freedom since Tohru is a dragon. Apparently, Tohru doesn’t believe she had any because of her allegiance to the chaos faction. Tohru asks the same question and she answers maid. I guess being a servant and falling in love with the right master would be better than running away from the law. If that girl gets caught, well she could get thrown in jail or even put to death. Still, I have to admit that her answer was interesting given that it eventually influences Tohru’s choice to become one.
From this, it’s easy to see why Tohru decided to become a maid. She finds being with Kobayashi and falling in love with her is key in gaining freedom. In other words, she is committed to fulfilling those ideals.
With that, there is a red dragon seen coming out of a portal in the end of the episode. This makes me wonder what will happen in the last episode. We’ll see.
It was excellent get more details about Tohru and Miss Kobayashi’s first meeting. It was also interesting to see that Miss Kobayashi wasn’t the first person who brought up maids to Tohru.

The next episode will be a sad one for us all.
I have to admit it was interesting to see how Tohru’s idea of becoming a maid is not a coincidence. This can explain why Tohru has a huge crush on Kobayashi…
But yes, I am going to miss the show after the last episode.
