As the big performance nears with the girls preparing at a training camp, the producer leaves Minami in charge. How will she fare as others struggle with the song they are supposed to perform together?
Up until now, the girls have been performing in separate units. Aside from some mishaps with Miku and Riina fighting from last time along with Mio causing a big misunderstanding after performing, everyone’s debuts has been a success. However, performing together on a song is something they haven’t done before.
The girls’ trouble with the new song kind of mirrors one of the episodes in the main series with the girls having trouble getting down the steps for a new song. The only difference this time is that the girls are just not used to performing together as a whole group. Instead of practicing, Minami decides to do something a bit different by having them do various team building activates such as a relay race, water gun fight, finding a piece of candy in the flour and a three-legged race.
I have to admit that it was pretty fun seeing the girls enjoy themselves while growing bonds with each other. While Anzu hiding and shooting her water gun off without her opponents knowing was funny, watching Minami, Ranko and Anya cross the finish line in a three-legged race after being dead last was the highlight of the episode. Despite them falling before reaching the finish line, they managed to pick themselves up and eventually crossed it.
While the team building activities clearly have a positive effect on everyone, I have to admit that Minami was a good leader. Even though she didn’t stood out at first, it seems that she never thought of becoming an idol until she performed on stage for the first time with Anya and discovered something exciting. It just shows how open-minded she is when trying new things, which can explain why she went off and done her own thing rather than sticking with the plan. No wonder the girls made her the leader in the end since she done a good job improving everyone’s teamwork skills.
From the looks of the next episode, the big day has finally come. To me, it’s probably the best way to end off the first half. ¶
