At last, the spring anime season as finally started. Unfortunately, Nanoha and Yuki-chan is not being simulcasted and because of the lack of subs, I can’t cover them yet. I will eventually share my thoughts once they are out.
For now, since the second season of Nisekoi airs next Friday, I may as well cover all the original animation specials, which consists of 6 sub stories. While I enjoyed them all, what were my favorite moments? I’m here to share them.
Marika is the Best Girl?

I’m quite surprised by how enjoyable Marika was in these specials. It comes at no surprise since she is one of my favorites aside from Chitoge. To me, the third side story was the big highlight since she actually works at a restaurant to earn money for her dream of marrying Raku and buying a beach shore house to live together. It seems that she has big ambitions and I won’t be surprised if she manages to do it with only a part-time job. After all, she is the only girl in Raku’s harem that actively acknowledges the fact that she loves him.
Still, I’m quite surprised by her strength despite her illness when she kicked out the gangs and the police force. I guess she wants to defend her dream and if the restaurant closes, she will be screwed. Even so, I’m shocked that she still has the job despite her bad performance.
Glasses-less Ruri?

At last, Ruri finally gets the spotlight when she accidentally loses her glasses. Still, I’m shocked by how bad her vision is. Still, it’s funny to see Kosaki and Raku find a bunch of lost items in the process with Ruri thinking that it’s her glasses. I have to admit that some of the stuff they found was hilarious. Thankfully, Kosaki eventually found them.
However, she finally revealed whom Kosaki likes despite saying it’s a joke and it’s quite obvious. Nobody should be surprised by now on how dense Raku is despite gushing over her in the first season. Top that off with Kosaki’s unwillingness to confess her feelings for him, I have a feeling that she is not going to win unless she gains the courage to do so. I guess we’ll see how far she progresses in the sequel.
Haru, Kosaki’s little sister finally appears?

I have to admit that I wasn’t aware that Kosaki has a little sister until the fifth story. Apparently she does and Haru will apparently play a big part in the second season. Also, her friends, Fuu and Paula show up in the 6th story.
With that, while the last episode was there to give some hype for the next season by showing some of the new characters ahead of time, I have to admit that all three episodes were very enjoyable. Watching the girls do things like exorcising the bad luck from Raku and act strangely from those whisky candies was hilarious. Even so, I have to admit that Tsugumi looked cute in her new year’s kimono.
With that, I’m totally hyped for the next season of Nisekoi, which will start airing next week. I can’t wait!
