Now that Spider Guildy evolved into Arachne, will Souji finally resolve his conflict regarding his love for Twintails?
While it’s disappointing that Sora did not get much screen time because Souji managed to revert back after resolving his conflict over the fear of losing his love for twin tails, this does not mean that she is not gone forever. He still retains the ability to transform back into her as much as he likes. The funny thing is that Sora is literally his love for twin tails, which is unexpected. Then again, it makes sense since Sora took over Souji’s place because of the fear of losing the love for it. In the end, Tail Red was able to defeat Arachne by transforming her new form, thus regaining her own powers.
As a whole, while this show is definitely not a masterpiece by the stretch of one’s imaginations, I think that Ore Twintail ni Narimasu is a very enjoyable show that has a very silly premise of magical warriors protecting twin tails. While it’s definitely better than Kampfer since the main character was not annoying at all while the show made fun of some of the clichés of harem Anime, the production values was not that great and it was apparent in the last few episodes. It’s clear that Production IMS has a terrible track record when it comes to animation quality, which kind of held this show back (episode 10 was basically it’s low point with terrible animation). While I doubt there will be a second season, but if there is, hopefully they will pick a better animation studio.
It was also disappointing that they left out some of the enjoyable parts of the novel out of the adaptation such as the male student body obsessing over Sora and the obligatory beach episode. I guess one can hope that the latter will show up in a form of OVA.
Overall Rating: 8.3/10, Good, B
Note: Shirobako coverage will resume next week in 2015.
