Since all of the Fall Anime has finally ended, there is the Winter 2011 Season that will premiere early next week. Its pretty surprising to see a whole year fly pass by with 2011 in the horizon after two days. Therefore, I will discuss my thoughts on the shows I will potentially watch and cover.
Shows I will Watch

Magical Girls are hard to come by these days recently… Well, it’s not until Magical Girl Madoka Magica came along to surprise us. It’s animated by Shaft, which have made some rather popular shows like Arakawa and Bakamonogatari in recent years. The director for this show, Shinbo have directed the shows I mentioned plus Nanoha. Since this has an Original Story, it will in no doubt surprise us and cause a lot of discussion and speculation.
Traditionally, genderbending and crossdressing is used for comedy. However, Houro Musuko focuses on gender bending with a realistic approach by telling a story that happened in real life with different identities. Sexuality has been an important topic even though I am straight as a result of the recent suicides from bullying of LGBT students. Hopefully they will cover many issues LGBT people faces while having a good story.

Considering that I haven’t progressed from the first episode of the first season, I should really catch up before watching this.
Well, show that is set in 1924 with loli detectives? Sounds like Milky Holmes, but maybe not since the lack of magical powers. Besides from that, I am on the fence on this one.
This is a somewhat mixed winter compared to last year, but hopefully it will be a good one. Besides the new shows, I will focus on Tears to Tiara, Aria the Animation and the rest of the backlog, which is collecting dust. If you are still curious about other shows in the Winter 2011 Season, see the Winter 2011 selections at The Cart Driver or Melative (not complete yet). Blogging of Anime will possibly slow down when I start Spring Semester on January 18th.
