It seems that my blog is growing a bit steadily, but I would like to do better in the new years. Therefore, I have three goals I want to work on.
Japanese Self-Study
As always, I want to improve my Japanese and currently, I’m doing pretty well. I’m 1/3 finished with the Intermediate Level textbook and from the looks of lang-8 corrections, it seems that word-choice is one of the issues at the moment I’m facing due to my limited vocabulary. Still, I think I can improve once I know at least the first 1000 kanji well. I think that goal is obtainable and hopefully, I will have enough confidence to take the JLPT, but we’ll see.
Blogging Goals
While I’m doing rather well from what I have achieved in 2012, I would like to do better. Besides focusing on episodic posts most of the time and writing editorials, I want to see some guest editorials that is related to what I watched and other stuff like some Japanese game reviews such as Japanese RPGs. If you have any helpful suggestions on how to approach this or want to write a guest post, just leave it in the comments or just contact me so I can think about it.
Tackling the Backlog
Like any Anime Blogger would know by now, it’s difficult to finish the backlog since we are so focused on currently airing shows. In one of my goals from last year, I said that I would finish my backlog. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen because I was too focused on my Japanese self-studies and college work. While I’m not 100% sure I can finish my extensive backlog by the end of the year, I will definitely put more effort into decreasing it and not let it grow further.
This wraps up what I want to accomplish for the New Year and for my 5th year of blogging as this blog turns 5 years old in February. I thank everyone who subscribed, followed and/or supported me for all these years. I hope this year will be a good one.
