With the Gael Clan leaving their village behind, Arthur, Arawn and Rhiannon finds ships so the whole clan can leave to Albion… Unfortunately, the forces from empire captured the ships, which makes the departure impossible… or is it?
Episode 3 – Arwan’s Growing Harem and the Great Escape
One of the funniest things in this episode has to be Morgan, an archer girl that attacks Arawn behind his back. Sadly, she gets her weapons gets knocked out by him. What is the end result? Arawn made her as his second wife and thus created a harem in a split second with Rhiannon as his first wife. The formation of his harem in three episodes makes harems from other shows look like nothing! On top of that, the girls towards the end fought over the right to suck Arawn’s wound so it will stop bleeding. In reality, this isn’t a practical solution since there is a risk of AIDs and HIV.
The battle for the ships and opening the sea wall was pretty intense with everyone in the Gael Clan defeating the soldiers that oppose them. Ironically, the enemies are extremely weak as they are defeated with one hit. In the end, the Gaels manage to recapture the ships and open the sea gates. Unfortunately, Gaius, the commander of an expedition unit for the empire kind of made a wound on Arawn’s hand that must be healed by magic. Eventually it was healed and things were all right.
From the last two episodes, Arthur has unfinished business with Arwan. It causes a fight between Arthur and Arwan to prove his point. The battle resulted in Arthur’s defeat with a small wound and his sword knocked out of his hand. This should finally teach him a lesson not to fight for ridiculous reasons even though they on the same side. Perhaps he will be less stubborn after this defeat…
Episode 4 – Arrival at the Castle, Meido Elves and Giant Crabs
At last, the crew arrives at the Gate of Life. Arawn breaks the seal for Avalon, thus opening the castle doors. After that, the rest of the episode showed some slice of life moments with some meido elves, traps in the armory and giant crabs.
Come to think of it… I never heard about maids in the Dark Ages. It seems too uncanny. Fortunately, this show disproves that myth. Basically, Limwris and Ermin are housekeeping elves. That explains why they are wearing maid outfits and they are pretty cute too while they roast the apples.
Later, Arthur and Arawn barge into the armory and gets all excited. As a result of Arawn setting off the trap, the barrier immobilizes them. Epona, which is also an elf comes into the armory and punishes them until she realizes that it’s really Arawn… It took her long enough to figure that out. On top of that, she gives them a crab horn that summons really huge enemy crabs in the sand. Yes, that joke is so old, but it was a good feast that could feed hundreds of people.
Overall, both of these episodes are rather fun and even outright cute. The mindless wound licking, cute maids and Morgan obsessing since she became Arawn’s second wife gave me some giggles. Aside from that, the fighting scenes were good and the story remains enjoyable. I wonder… what will happen when the empire strikes back in the next episode? Hopefully it won’t be too tragic for the heroes.
Oooo Tears to Tiaria, such a good anime. The story is pretty good and the characters are funny. I love your sarcastic references. As for maids in the dark age… wasn’t it more like servants or slaves? Hahah. The giant crabs turned into food looked kind of yummy. The next few episodes are just as good. :3
