Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Movie 1st – Movie Review

First in the summer vacation marathon, I have watched the Nanoha movie (most namely, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The Movie 1st), which focused on the events involving Nanoha’s befriending of Fate in the original season. Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha has been a very enjoyable magical girl series to me as it differs to the traditional genre. It caters to the moe crowd while appealing to others with a rather complex magic system (with some elements of mecha), males using magic and of course yuri. Of course, the first season of Nanoha is not entirely flawless since the animation was lackluster and some important details were left unexplained until the movie came out…

Episode 8 was so astonishing! All the angst from Sayaka just blew up rather quickly. Meanwhile, Madoka gets emotionally hurt as Sayaka rips the relationship apart in the path of her destruction. Tantei Opera Milky Holmes – Final Review

Tantei Opera Milky Holmes is probably one of the most unexpected gems in the Fall 2010 season.  While the first episode gave me a mediocre impression, it only got better with every episode. On top of that, you have these wacky heroes that do really funny cute things. In addition, you got the absolutely hilarious villains, especially Twenty who can’t keep off his shirt. Stupid Tantei Opera Milky Holmes! It’s not like I want to watch you or anything… but the cuteness pulled me in!

Yeah, I am pretty tsundere when it comes to anime and this is no exception. Tantei Opera Milky Holmes is a magical girl detective story with extremely cute girls fighting against the villains. At the same time, the first episode was pretty brutal since they lost their powers 9 minutes into the first episode. After they lost their powers, things kind of went in a downward spiral.
