As mentioned last Friday, I appealed to people to leave Twitter. However, given the recent bans, I decided to double down my activity on Mastodon. Twitter has decided to ban all other social network profiles because a certain billionaire’s feelings got hurt. The situation is now extremely dangerous as there is no free speech on Twitter, meaning it’s time to move on.
Change is hard, but I urge everyone to leave Twitter. The person who owns Twitter has only his interest, his cult, and the alt-right interest in mind. As mentioned in my earlier posts, when Elon Musk bought Twitter, I set up a Mastodon server for the Aniblogosphere and any anime fans looking for an alternative. Now it’s time to move.
You can join us at Sakurajima, which is at https://sakurajima.moe. We will only block instances with hate speech, rampant harassment, misinformation, and extremist views to keep everyone safe. Furthermore, I have made tutorials to help Anime Bloggers or anyone interested in joining to get used to Mastodon and set up an auto-share of blog posts on the platform. Note that you can follow other people outside of our Mastodon instance.
Update: After a lot of backlash from this decision, Twitter reversed it, but it doesn’t mean I will be returning to Twitter. A lot of goodwill was lost even by pulling this decision. It proves that being on centralized platforms is not a good idea without regulations like the EU put on them to prevent these companies from pulling a move like this. With that, I will only use my account to read tweets and respond to DMs during the transition period. I still urge people to leave Twitter as long as Elon Musk owns it. No matter if he leaves the CEO position, it’s still an unsafe platform. Also, it doesn’t make sense to share reviews of LGBT content on a platform that condones hate speech and harassment of LGBT people and let those people back on the platform. Therefore, I need to hold true to my morals and do the right thing and stop supporting a platform that promotes hate speech and harassment of LGBT people and minorities like myself.
Also, you can find me on my other profiles.
It’s time to let Twitter rot and become the next MySpace. While change is hard, this is the right thing to do. Society will be better off without Twitter, especially with an egotistical billionaire now controlling it.
As always, you can subscribe to my blog if you want to follow it by using the button on the footer.
Thank you.

Last week, I made a PSA to the AniBlogosphere to start looking for alternatives to Twitter. After all, Twitter has a significant possibility of going bankrupt with the FTC fining Twitter and possibly shutting it down for the decree they currently have. In other words, things are not looking great.
Now, there is news that 90% of the remaining employees have resigned. It’s because they don’t want to work 84 hours a week and be forced to work to their limit with no overtime pay. This will mean that Twitter can go down for long periods or indefinitely as there aren’t many people manning the ship.
With the recent news that Twitter closed all the buildings with badge access suspended, we are possibly seeing the endgame of Twitter or the speed run to kill a company/platform off. While some don’t believe that Twitter will end, the end of Twitter is now here, or close to it. So it’s time to prepare your alternate social accounts.
I know Mastodon, similar to Twitter but decentralized, is getting slammed. Still, it’s probably best to join a smaller server for most anime fans and content creators. I thought this would happen and set up a server called Sakurajima. Many bloggers and anime fans have already joined with a good amount of activity. If you need help getting around Mastodon or setting up Auto Post with WordPress, all is in this guide. If you are looking for other alternatives, see my previous post on why to think about alternatives. After all, I don’t want you to lose contact with your friends and followers.
Breaking: Twitter could go down at any time now.
With that, here are my alternative profiles you can follow:
Be sure to have a backup of your Twitter account and remove all connections with Twitter before leaving.
If you need assistance joining the Sakurajima Mastodon server or help using it, use the comment section on this post.
