Casting spells are fun…
Before watching the next heartbreaking episode of Clannad ~After Story~, since Haruhi-chan 7-8 and Churuya-san 4 is out, it’s that time again…
The question is yes, but the single DVDs are currently difficult to find due to the ADV fiasco happened early last year caused ADV’s licensed anime being difficult to find and also the current Economic Downturn we are in also put a strain on them as well. Luckily, FUNIanimation now holds the license of AIR TV and will release a full season box set on April 21, 2008 of this year (and it’s alot cheaper buying it instead of singles… even though I have the money to buy singles), meaning that I won’t be able to watch it until early/mid May due to alot of college work after the long reading week (aka spring break) and exams coming towards the end of the Spring semester. Once I receive them and start watching, I will start blogging on it as well.
Well, after watching Kanon, Clannad, and currently Clannad ~After Story~, I gained interest in Key’s stories which are regarded as masterpieces… compared to other harem or visual novel adaptations I have seen so far. I also gained interest in some of Kyoto Animation’s work after watching Haruhi Season 1 (which is done very well) and Lucky Star. Also, I lost interest in most of today’s popular Shounen shows… because most of them are just not that great (yes, I’m looking at you, Naruto and Bleach).
After Clannad ~After Story~ ends, after three episodes… I’m going to have a period where I have nothing to watch except the episodes (until April comes!) I haven’t watched yet. Besides, I want to watch the dub version… because it’s alot easier to understand the story than just reading the subtitles that disappear after a few seconds before you even finish it.
The answer is never… Toei Animation seems to botch up the story lines of every adaptation of Key’s Visual Novels so much that it’s not even funny… They should just stick to animating One Piece.
If you want to know more, the profile for this Anime is here.
Kotomi: It bends here.
Kyou: That’s a joke?
Tomoya: Don’t ask me.
Here is the mega review you have been waiting for… Kadokawa released two new Haruhi-chan episodes and rereleased Churuya-san Episode 1. More after the break.
What if we add this “Hyper Rainbow Bread” with
Akiko’s Special Jam… we will get… something very very bad…
Here is the third review of the Haruhi webcast series, Suzumiya Haruhi-chan Episode 4… We already got this far in 2 weeks?
Since Nyoron Churuya-san Episode 4 isn’t out, it will be posted separately.
Sunohara tries to find a girlfriend before his sister (Mei) comes.
Also contains Sanae-san cosplaying scene.

Makoto: Lets make paper air planes!!!!
Throwing paper airplanes may be fun… but Haruhi might not approve of that!
Here is the 2nd review on the Haruhi webcast series… Suzumiya Haruhi-chan/Nyoron Churuya-san Episode 3.
But you have to! (… hehe… If you didn’t notice, I’m a Ayu fan…)
Anyways… After Kadokawa trolled us about Haruhi Season 2 is being a rerun of Season 1 on April and BoatRoll’d us, they have finally release 4 episodes of Haruhi-chan and Nyoron Churuya-san. I don’t intend to review all the episodes at once since I have a very busy week, but two will do. The full summary and reaction after the jump!

This one takes the cake home! Finally finished it… After Story… here we go!
But before diving into Clannad ~After Story~, I thought best to write a somewhat meaningful review… In three parts
At first, people have labeled Clannad as “moe-bishoujo crap,” (most of the negativity is from Haruhi-tards, no offense.) but if you watched the whole season, that wasn’t the case at all. Clannad is the first of Key’s work that actually appealed to the mainstream crowd, because the plot is less complicated than Kanon and Air and also contained 2x more comedic scenes compared to the latter two, thus making it more enjoyable while still maintaining dramatic moments. Clannad is essentially the marriage of Kanon and Air with some comedic moments from Haruhi with 1.5 less supernatural elements. Yes, Clannad seems to be more realistic (besides Fuko’s arc) compared to previous adaptations.
The adaptation of Season 1 of Clannad seemed to be done well compared to Toei Animation’s adaptation of Clannad which is done poorly and will spoil Clannad ~After Story~ if you watch the movie, so don’t.
Next review will cover the important aspects of the series, the Story, Animation and Characters and I’m doing individual episode reviews too.

Most of the time, not really unless you saw the subbed version. Most of the time, I watch the dub because I’m so lazy reading those subtitles and why do I have to read it when I’m tying to enjoy it… The most decent dub I saw so far is the Suzumiya Haruhi and Lucky Star. The problem with some dubs is that the dub is so horrible and so unbearable that I have to end up watching the fansubbed version. The most notorious of this is Pokemon (also known as Pocket Monsters) which recast the whole voice cast and make the dub 10x worst than any Anime I have seen dubbed since Pokemon is the only decently dubbed anime by 4kids (excluding the unnecessary edits and americanization) (Thanks alot Pokemon USA for messing it up). The perception of dubs by many “purists” that dubs are always bad and subs and original voice actors are better. This is misleading to most fans of Anime and watchers because most dubs are just okay enough and not horrible like some fanboys/fangirls who exaggerated its horribleness. Also, you can’t always have the English voice to completely match because the language and how they speak is different and something may not sound right doesn’t necessary mean it’s a bad dub… it’s only bad when it’s absolutely horrible and things are censored (which is common for anime aired on TV, but not always the case), mainly most Anime dubbed by 4kids who replace OP and ED with RAP garbage…
Otherwise, dubs in my opinion aren’t bad at all… If you think it’s horrible, you can always turn on the subtitles and Japanese audio on the Anime DVDs.
What you think about dubs? What do you perfer and why?
