Magrarete and Tomari are unwilling to join the other side. Even though Kanon discovers that only one school idol group can participate in Love Live, the two groups must compete to continue competing in Love Live during the cultural festival. The question is, who will win?
Believe it or not, we discover a few things only a handful of days before the festival, where Margarete’s group and Liella will compete. In a meeting with Kanon and Chisato, the school’s president, she revealed that the students don’t want the competition to seem like a competition. Instead of voting, they want the two groups to perform on an equal footing and the same song. Well, make it appear both are winners, and the group eventually becomes one.
As expected, Margarete is not happy with this arrangement. With that, the 1st and 2nd years will work on a song together. Of course, Mei reveals that the losing group will fulfill one request from the winning group. As expected, Margarete thinks this is a punishment if they lose. Natsumi suddenly says that she will do it.
Either way, things got heated between Mei and Margarete as Margarete wanted to use an instrumental track she made up beforehand. Of course, Mei won’t allow it since it’s not school idol-themed. Tomari wants each group to make their track and have the third year decide. Natsumi points out they are here to make a song that both groups will be satisfied with, but Tomari doesn’t seem to care. It’s as if she wants to do her own thing, causing Natsumi to become upset.
In short, Kinako, Mei, and Shiki seem frustrated as if this continues. They will have two separate songs. With that, they decided they couldn’t develop a good song without Natsumi and Tomari making up with each other. Of course, Natsumi tries to talk to talk with Tomari, but she refuses to open the door. That is until Natsumi sees Mei, Shiki, and Kinako at the door, who want to help Natsumi make up with Tomari. That will, of course, involve Natsumi opening her heart.
With that, Natsumi and her friends want to talk to Tomari. Of course, Margarete gets dragged in as well. They are here as they want to come together; if Margarete’s and Liella make two different songs, they will end up performing Liella’s song instead.
As expected, Tomari wants to do it alone, but Natsumi starts crying and calls Tomari an idiot. Natsumi begs Tomari that she will accept everything about her if only she can get into her heart as she wants to be with her. As expected, it’s emotional to see them share how they feel about each other, but it’s nice to see them finally make up with each other. At last, the thing that keeps them apart gets resolved as they start writing the song.
After the girls worked hard on making the song together, they performed at the festival, and the festival finally came. There are also some lovely moments, such as Ren, a witch outfit for a video. Of course, Sumire seems annoyed, and Keke seems happy that Sumire is wearing her favorite isopod costume. That is while Keke helped Chisato sell rainbow Takoyaki, which is quite funny.
As for the performance, they are performing together. It’s interesting how the two groups wore different colored outfits until they eventually changed to the same color as if they had become one Liella. Yep, that was the plan, and somehow Margarete accepts her fate of joining Liella.
I feel that this is what Kanon planned with the students, who want to see all 11 members of Liella compete in Love Live. After all, it doesn’t matter if Margarete competes in her unit or with Liella; as long she wins, she can finally go to the school she has wanted all along.
