Last time, Kurumi decides to give up on magic as she cannot do it while Yuzu can. That is when Suzuki chooses to visit Kurumi’s grandmother’s house.
With the New Year starting, Kurumi wakes up thinking Maki will return today. That is until she finds out that it’s freezing outside and snowing. Yep, it’s frigid but suspiciously cold, like in the arctics, as they find out.
In short, it’s obvious what they do next. Yes, they go outside, play in the snow, and do some ice skating. Of course, Aniku came up with the idea of building a sauna. In short, as others make the tent and collect rocks, Kurumi accidentally slides onto the frozen lake and gets near the center, which is not ice but water. That is, until a rock stopped her from falling in.
Kurumi figured it was a good idea to take and use that rock. The funny thing is that it is where the Droney graveyard is, as Kurumi might have activated another wonder without realizing it. Nevertheless, she took it, and it worked well for the Sauna. The funny thing is that Harris is observing them significantly when the wonder gets activated.
As expected, the wonder eventually activated and worsened as glaciers grew in the lake. The Magic Research Club scientist finds out that the seal that covered the legendary Disaster Hole is gone, and they use the boulder that sealed it for a sauna and panic. Kurumi blames herself and decides to fix it, but the bolder is too hot to touch. Of course, stopping the wonder requires ancient magic, and modern magic won’t work here.
In short, it’s up to Yuzu to do the spell, but she doesn’t remember. Also, Kurumi is not confident that she can do it. Yuzu will do it as long Kurumi does it with her. If they do it together, they can pull it off. Sure, Kurumi says that she can’t do it because she gave up on magic, but Yuzu encourages her that she can do it. Believe it or not, they managed to pull it off and neutralize the wonder. That is when Harris saw them pulling it off.
In short, the source of the Arctic cold is gone, and they decide to hide a rock somewhere that is not so secret. I wonder if that shape-shifting dog girl working with that cat nurse might use it in their plan. Of course, Harris reveals in the new semester that Suzuki is extending her absence, which seems a bit suspicious.
We find out that a cloaked man who looks like him kidnaps her and imprisons her. Of course, Suzuki doesn’t have her pen, so her magic is minimal. That is when Harris gives Kurumi an invitation to take an exam to give her a chance to get into Magumi, even if she says she has already given up on being a magician. Maybe the modern faction has a hunch that they know Kurumi was born as a magician, and they probably want her in their faction. Also, this shape-shifting girl is wondering if Kurumi will take that exam. We’ll have to find out next time what she decides to do.
