With Sumire catching Natsumi in the act, Kanon gives Natsumi the benefit of the doubt. With that, will we finally find out why Natsumi uses Liella to earn money?
They have something in mind now that Kinako, Mei, and Shiki decided to do their own practice during summer break. Sure, Natsumi wants them to create their own units. However, I find it funny how Natsumi comes up with the name “Kirara” when Kinako remarks that Natsumi’s unit name sounds like a magazine name. Apparently, she knows about “Manga Time Kirara,” a magazine that focuses on moe 4koma series.
Either way. Mei and Shiki are finished with Natsumi’s antics as they aim to catch up to their seniors no matter what. After showing their suitcases, it’s obvious where they are going. They are dragging Natsumi along on the ride.
One can say things are not going so well for Natsumi. They are going on a summer training camp in Kinako’s hometown. When Natsumi wants to return home, I find it funny that Kinako reminds her of her duty to record and pay for their transportation expenses.
As expected, she cries about her money. I wonder why she is so obsessed with money so much. We will find the answer shortly. I find it hilarious how Shiki put the running contraption on Natsumi to force her to go to their destination.
Meanwhile, Kanon panders about what she went wrong with the first years. Chisato ensures her that it’s not her fault. Their fears go down after seeing Natsumi’s recent video on their first day of practice. It received a good number of views. However, Sumire remains suspicious of Natsumi and fears the first years becoming rivals. That is when Kanon decides to talk to her privately as Chisato has something in mind.
As expected, Natsumi tries to come up with a clickbait title until Kinako catches her. Apparently, she didn’t come down for dinner yet. Finally, Kinako checked on her and revealed her dream of surpassing the next performance and making Liella better.
With that, we finally learn more about Natsumi’s dreams or lack of. While she says she wants to earn loads of money, it can’t buy someone happiness. Even with that, she is not doing a hot job as she can’t make money without click-baiting and clout-chasing Liella.
She wanted to become a gold medal Olympian, a Nobel Prize-winning scientist, and a model in her nightmare. Sadly, she is not athletic, good at science, or tall enough. So it’s easy to see why Natsumi feels that the only thing she can do is earn a lot of money. Then, she overhears Shiki, Kinako, and Mei talking to Kanon and the rest of the 2nd year. Apparently, they are changing up the dance moves. That is when Natsumi discovers that the dream Kinako, Mei, and Shiki want to achieve is not impossible.
When Natsumi went into the bath, Kinako asked about her goal. Of course, she gets upset over not having any besides money. That is when she tells Kinako to leave until Natsumi sees a bear. Seeing her reaction is hilarious when she realizes it’s just Kanon in a bear hoodie. She wants to give a good scare to Natsumi. Of course, Kanon wants Natsumi to keep this a secret.
Yep, Kanon overheard Kinako, and she found out the reason Natsumi is obsessed with money. It’s the only thing she can think of. She reveals her difficulties as she was in the same place as Natsumi. If you recall, Kanon’s dream was to do the music course, but she couldn’t pass the auditions thanks to her crippling anxieties. However, she finds a new path thanks to Keke asking her to become a school idol.
In a way, Kanon wants Natsumi to do the same. If she did, she doesn’t need to clickbait Liella as she will be part of the group. From being part of Liella, hopefully, she can get her name out there. Yep, she did just that, and I think Kinako, Mei, and Shiki bringing Natsumi along with the ride helped with that process. At least it’s nice that Natsumi finds a new dream besides money.
Good to know what Natsumi’s deal was. Hope she won’t worry about dreams anymore now that she’s a school idol.
Kinako’s adorable as always. Shiki and Mei are still great together.
Kanon’s a caring mom and cute bear.
Makes me wonder why she didn’t join earlier as it would solve her problems of hardly making any money. I guess she just needed a little push, which is nice to see Kanon giving her. Yes, she gave a nice scare.
