Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Second Season – Episode 8 – Yuu Finds the Thrill

May 21, 2022 by Chikorita157 3 Comments
It seems that Yuu is having trouble finishing her music composition.

The last day of the School Idol Festival has come. However, Yuu is having trouble composing the song for the festival’s final performance for the School Idol Club to perform. Can she finish it before their performance?

Too bad Yuu didn’t get to see Ayumu wearing a waitress outfit.

At last, the final day has come as the actual festivities begin. Yes, the big performances, most notably, Lanzhu’s. I find it very creative how the students help build a very long slider around the school. With that, when the boat gets to the goal, this is when the School Idol Performances begin. Also, it’s nice to see Ayumu in a waitress outfit. Karin, Emma, and Kanata think that Ayumu looks adorable in it. Sadly, Yuu couldn’t see her wear it.

Yuu is having trouble expressing the “thrill.”

Speaking of Yuu, she is struggling to finish composing the song. Eventually, Kanata, Karin, Emma and Shioriko checked on her. It seems that Yuu has a hard time finding thrill in her piece. She is overthinking it as Shioriko suggests for her to take a breather.

Eventually, others find out how tense Yuu is feeling.

When she meets with everyone from the club, Yuu reveals what she is trying to convey in her song. As expected, she wants to use this song to showcase how unique everyone in the School Idol Club is and make their fans happy. Moreover, she wants to prove that she belongs to the School Idol Club.

Yes, the pressure is on, especially after watching Lanzhu’s performance. Yes, the boat got stuck at the last curve, but she started her performance anyway. Of course, her friends say that Yuu is overthinking it too much and should just write the song as she sees fit. After a while, the boat makes it to the goal before the actual performance starts. It shows that Lanzhu only cares about her performance and not the gimmicks.

Even after seeing the performance, Yuu is still feeling tense. Mia eventually talks to Yuu as she shares what she thinks about Lanzhu’s performance. Mia believes that there is no right or wrong way to create a song and perform it. However, Yuu is still looking for that trill until she hears a performance from far away. Yuu finally realized something as a fan. She wasn’t just feeling the thrill from their songs and performances but also seeing her friends trying their best to express themselves.

Yuu finally figured it out and she takes Mia along.

At last, Yuu finally has her Eureka moment as she drags Mia to the School Idol Club. As expected, she wants Mia to help her out with the song. However, it’s surprising how Mia is willing to help Yuu create the song that fits her vision. Is this the sign that Mia is finally loosening up?

Is this the sign that Mia is loosening up? Hopefully!
At last, Yuu is happy with how the performance turned out.

Either way, everyone in the School Idol Club seemed to like the song after listening to it. Also, the audience seems to like the performance of it as well. Yuu playing the piano at the beginning of the performance was a good touch. Moreover, this makes me wonder how they performed this song in real life in the actual live performances.

It looks like Lanzhu is going back to Hong Kong. Will Mia stop her?

Lastly, Lanzhu, who doubted the School Idol Club and belittled it, finally changed her mind. While she didn’t regret her time attending Nijigasaki, she decided to go back home while she say her farewell privately. But, from the looks of the next episode, besides being a Mia-focused episode, can she convince Lanzhu to stay? We’ll find out next week.

Yu struggling to find her spark at first was cute and funny. The handstand provided some sexy fanart. Much appreciated.

Mia did a good deed helping Yu find what she’s looking for and was rewarded with her own episode next time. Excited for that.

Fingers crossed Lanzhu’s story is heading where I think it is.

Yes, seeing Yu making some nice moves while struggling is funny. Still, it’s good that she received help and Mia loosened up a bit. I won’t be surprised that she will eventually join, but of course, she needs to convince Lanzhu not to leave/
