The girls at the Nijigasaki High School School Idol club are at work creating their promo video to show during the Open Campus. Of course, a transfer student appeared to have an interest in school idols.
As expected, Open Campus is almost here, and the School Idol Club wants to make a big splash. Yep, they are trying to recruit more members. What is the best way to do It by creating a cool PV of school idols in suits using magic to defeat monsters and show it to everyone? Shizuku is obviously directing this thing while Rina does the video editing. While they couldn’t get a spot on the auditorium thanks to losing the lottery, at least they can show the video on the big screen.
During the open campus, it appears that a girl that just transferred with her childhood friend came. She came up to Ayumu and hugged her. That is while Yuu with Ayumu is carrying a box back. Before that girl made the hug, she apparently knows Shioriko, the Student Council President. The girl who came over to hug Ayumu is Lanzhu Zhong who came from Hong Kong, and she is not 100% Chinese like Keke, but half, with the other half being Japanese.
Still, it becomes obvious why she came. After seeing the videos from the School Idol Festival, she apparently wants part of the action. She explains her reasons when she came over to the School Idol Club stand. It becomes obvious that after talking to Yuu, Lanzhu didn’t like how Yuu is helping the girls instead of becoming a school idol. It becomes clear later after Yuu tries to get the video played on the screen.
As expected, someone screwed up and put the outtakes on the flash drive instead of the finished video. While these bloopers are hilarious and embarrassing, it’s obvious that Kasumi screwed up big time by copying the wrong file while being in a rush. Not too surprising at the very least.
Of course, Lanzhu and Mia took advantage of the situation so Lanzhu can show off her performance. It got the visitor’s attention. As expected, after the performance and the School Idol Club playing the correct video this time, she shows her true feelings towards them.
As expected, Lanzhu doesn’t intend to join the School Idol Club and views them as their rivals. Most importantly of all, she doesn’t like how Yuu support her friends instead of becoming an idol herself. As expected, she sees this idol thing of giving dreams to others and views idols who need support from idols are being pathetic. I find this somewhat hypocritical as she needed help from Mia to get the instrumentals playing.
Yep, it becomes clear that she is a narcissist and stuck up. Will this be her downfall, or will she change her mind? I think it’s more of the latter at some point, she will give in. Either way, Shioriko doesn’t seem amazed that Lanzhu pulled this stunt. Still, I wonder whose ideals will win out in the end of the day. We’ll see sooner or later. Also, I wonder what role Mia will play as well.
So happy Nijigaku are back!
Surprised Shioriko’s voice is more serious and not bratty. Makes sense given she’s in the seitokai. Mia and Lanzhu’s first impressions though were close to what I expected.
I hope Yu doesn’t struggle too much due to overworking herself.
Lanzhu’s performance was fitting for the season 2 premiere, HOT!
Not too surprising at the very least, but yes, Lanzhu’s performance is quite fitting for the first episode. Hopefully we will learn more about the new characters very soon.
Literally my favorite anime
I had to recheck to make sure the episode wasn’t a prank once the fire and explosions happened
The intro definately tricked me, but it’s obvious that the show wants to start the show with a bang.
