At last, Hiyori, Koharu, and Koi goes out to try bait fishing with Ichika. Still, Hiyori feels bothered by what Futaba said last time.
While Koi’s dad drove Hiyori with Koi and Koharu to the fishing spot, Hiyori had a dream. Yes, she apparently wants to go fishing on a fishing boat with her father. Understandably, he doesn’t want to take her there since he feels that it’s too dangerous for her.
I find it funny how Hiyori is willing to glue herself to make it happen. Ultimately, she comes into terms that her dad wants her to wait until she is in middle school. Sadly, we know what happened a few years later.
At last, Hiyori, Koharu, and Koi arrived at their destination with Ichika waiting. I find it funny how Koi’s father wants to join them, but Ichika won’t allow him to join. It’s obvious that she wants to go fishing with the girls only. Of course, Futaba apologizes to Hiyori saying something she didn’t mean to her. That is as they head to meet with the receptionist before they start fishing.
As Ichika prepares the boat, it’s obvious that Koharu wants Hiyori to compliment her new fishing outfit. Of course, Koi comes all covered up wearing clothing covering up her skin with a mask and yeah. She looks creepier compared to her outfit in the second episode. I am with Koharu as Koi shouldn’t worry that much about sunlight if she puts on sunscreen. Not only that, but it must also be hot with her wearing all that clothing.
Eventually, Hiyori tells Koi about what Futaba said, Koi thinks she shouldn’t worry about it. Still, it’s obvious that Hiyori feels bothered as she didn’t answer Futaba’s question. We find out why she asked this later. Besides, Futaba also tags along to help them.
Eventually, when the girls prepare the bait, when Futaba takes out the bugs, Hiyori freaks out. Hiyori really doesn’t like insects. However, Koharu seems gutsier as she touches the bugs. I can see why Hiyori only does fly fishing. Thankfully, Futaba assures her that she will help Hiyori out.
Of course, Koharu manages to catch a scorpionfish, which is unusual since they usually hang out in the bottom. Also, Hiyori manages to catch several fish. Of course, Hiyori wondered if Koharu is falling out of love for fly fishing. Either way, the girls had a lot of fun and Futaba saw first-hand. Koharu with the help of her mother helped make dinner from the fish they caught.
You might be wondering, why Futaba asked Hiyori the strange question? It’s obvious that she preferred playing with the boys. Yes, Futaba is tomboyish and become self-conscious when her classmates ask if she is doing it because she liked the boys. Some of her classmates peddled the sexist bull crap that girls shouldn’t do hobbies that are meant for boys or hang out with them. The same can be said in reverse. Screw gender stereotypes and gender roles, people can do whatever they want as a hobby. As long they aren’t doing anything wrong, it’s fine. This can explain why she wanted to give up on fishing, which unset Ichika as she hugs her. Of course, Koharu wants a hug from Hiyori.
From this, when Hiyori’s mother is about to leave to bring Ichika and Futaba home, Hiyori wanted to talk to Futaba. After knowing the difficulties Futaba went through, Hiyori wants to become friends with her.
It’s obvious that Hiyori is finally opening to more people as she wants to fish with Futaba in the future. As expected, she accepted. I guess this wouldn’t be possible without Koharu too. Hiyori working as a waitress and dealing with customers also helps too. Hopefully, Futaba will gain the courage of doing whatever she wants and ignore those who prejudge her.
Hiyori worried Koharu prefers bait fishing over fly fishing was cute, as was Koharu wanting to hug her sister-wife.
Poor Futaba. Gender stereotypes aren’t cool. Glad everyone helped her understand she had nothing to worry about.
Not to mention, Hiyori doesn’t really like bugs. Still, she doesn’t want her to go to the dark side obviously.
Hopefully Futaba will get over silly society pressures. We’ll see soon enough
