With the auditions finally over, some time has passed. You might be wondering, who made the cut?
At last, the production committee selected who will do each role. Of course, Maika, Honoka and Shino managed to land roles. Sadly, they passed Haruna over, but there is a surprise for her, more on that later. Either way, I hope that she doesn’t end up like Shizuka who is unable to land even an even minor role for a long time and eventually become demoralized. Still, it’s very uncommon to see an absolute beginner land a minor role, let alone a major one and get stuck in background roles for a while.
Aside from the results, Misaki announces another opportunity for the girls. Yes, it’s for a multimedia project that involves idols called Project Vogel. It’s still in its crowdfunding phase. This is not too unusual as there are many of those in real life with a mobile game tie-in and live performances.
Of course, Yuuki questions this since she felt that idols are not a voice acting job. Of course, she doesn’t realize that seiyuu doesn’t just do voice acting, but talk shows, singing, and other activities. Not only that, but there are also idol units that consist of seiyuus and I follow quite a few like TrySail. Rio had to explain this since she is new. While Haruna thought about it, she wasn’t the first one to come in.
As expected, Yuuki eventually comes into the office, and she is apparently the only one. That is only until Chisa, Airi, and Yuzuha came in. Even before Yuuki came into the office, she was very anxious to get a role in a hurry. That is because her father has the “boomer” mentality and doesn’t think voice acting is a real job. She obviously wants to volunteer for the project, so she has a job to prove her father wrong. At the same time, she doesn’t want her family restaurant to go down.
Of course, after Chisa, Airi, and Yuzuha came in, they explained their reasons why they want to do it. Sure, Yuuki obviously hid her reason, Airi wants to change herself. Yuzuha wants to create memories. Lastly, Yuzuha decides to come forward since being a seiyuu is her dream. Despite their reasons being jumbled, at least they are part of the project.
With that, Haruna returned to the office with Maika, Honoka and Shiho although she feels disappointed still. Of course, she mentioned about Project Vogel, but decided against it since she wants to focus on her lessons. Of course, Rio revealed that Haruna is going to join Maika, Honoka, and Shino in the recording session.
Yes, she is voicing Student A, which is not too uncommon for unknown voice actors to voice background characters. Hopefully, Haruna won’t end up like Shizuka and only voice background characters with no opportunity to voice a minor or major roles. We’ll see and hopefully she will use this opportunity to gain experience.
Hopefully Haruna won’t let her first role as a background character not get her down and she’ll do her best to show she’s worthy of bigger roles in the future.
Best of luck to Chuu*4.
Best for her not to become depressed like Suzuka, but hopefully it’s just the beginning and she will get better roles in the future and not end up in a downward spiral.
Still, needs more Rie, I guess.
