Now that Kanon and her friends figured out a name for their group, now comes the hard part. Yes, surviving preliminaries is a challenge of its own.
As expected, Kanon and her friends find out from the MC finally reveals the requirements to pass the first round. Each group must perform a rap song. Of course, Kanon and her friends have a hard time since they aren’t good at creating lyrics, dancing, and rapping. Still, it’s funny to see Kanon’s, Chisato’s, and Ren’s failed attempts at it.
It’s obvious where the answer lies. Yes, it’s Sumire who claims to be the jack of all trades since she has experience in show business. With that, being skilled at everything needed to get pass the first stage. Sure, Keke seems against it at first, but she eventually changes her mind, especially given how much effort Sumire put into practice. Keke even made a special outfit for her for the performance to show that she has faith in Sumire.
Of course, Kanon, Chisato, and Ren starts doubting Sumire after receiving feedback from their fans. The fans believe that Kanon or Ren should do it. Yes, it doesn’t go so well when Sumire overhears it ad decides she doesn’t want to be the center anymore.
It’s not too surprising to see Sumire feel this way. After all, she never got the starring role when she auditioned for them during her childhood. She gets stuck doing supporting roles no matter how hard she tries. This of course dented her self-confidence, pretty much like we had seen in the previous installments like with Rin and her self confidence issues of being the center because of her short hair.
As expected, the thing that helped her overcome this is Sumire overhearing Keke. Apparently, she is talking to her parents and Sumire overhears her that if things don’t work out, she had to return home. Of course, Keke eventually finds out about this, Sumire feels that Kanon and her friends picked her out of pity.
Of course, Keke doesn’t agree that this is the case and they picked Sumire because Kanon wanted it. Not only that, Keke believed in Sumire and thinks she can shine as she offers the special Tierra. Yes, it’s starting to remind me of that moment with Rin and Hanayo. Thankfully, it seems that everything works out in the end from what it seems. Also, Sumire looks great out there.
As mentioned I forgot all about the MC before someone tweeted about her.
Sumire deserved the spotlight after how hard she worked for it and wanting to prove she could be the lead for once. B+ player no longer thanks to Keke and the gang supporting her.
Yes, it’s nice to see Sumire finally get the spotlight, but it shows that the highly competitive show business and all those rejections for the staring role has definitely took a toll on her self esteem. I agree that things will get better with her friends supporting her.
