Urasekai Picnic – Episode 1 – The Faithful Rescue and Wiggle Hunting

January 4, 2021 by chikorita157 1 Comment

Sorawo is in a precarious situation. Will someone rescue her?

While I am late on the winter season preview, no problem. The show must go on as we focus on one of the anticipated for this season. That is Urasekai Picnic.

From the start, it seems that a loner college student, Sorawo is stuck in another world.  Yes, in the world where it looks apocalyptic. She wonders if she would make it alive out of this world. Thankfully, someone came to rescue her thinking it’s someone else. She accidentally looks at the monster, which causes Sorawo to plunge in the lake. Thankfully, Toriko manages to save her before she drowned.

Yep, Toriko is a beauty.
Somehow, defeating these Wiggle drops a strange item.

It’s obvious that Toriko is a beauty, which Sorawo become attracted when she saw her. However, the monster which Sorawo calls a “Wiggle-Waggle” is still there. She tells her not to look at it or the beholder will become insane. Thankfully, by chance, Toriko manages to defeat it with a rock of salt. This makes her believe that she can do this again. More on that later.

Thankfully, they took shelter while digesting what happened.

Thankfully, Toriko and Sorawo manages to take shelter. Yes, it looks like a messy break room in a shopping mall. Still, it’s obvious that Toriko went to that other world or Urasekai as she calls it. Apparently, she can defeat them. However, Toriko doesn’t know about these ghost-like monsters. Yep, it seems that Sorawo holds the knowledge about them. They are apparently ghost like monsters described from a 2002 internet rumor. It apparently causes causes people to become mad when they look at them directly. Seems scary, right?

Aside from that, Toriko brought back something, which is a cube that the Wiggle dropped. Sorawo obviously becomes perplexed and creeped out by it. Still, it’s obvious why Toriko took it. She wants to make money from it. This can explain why Toriko wants to go back and knows how to get there. More on that later.

I didn’t expect her to take out a gun. Sorawo didn’t either.

Shortly after, it the door started banging. When Sorawo checked it, she can only see blue. This prompts Toriko to take out a gun. After they opened the door, it’s the real world.  It appears the portal to the other world disappeared. Despite this, when Sorawo about to give Toriko her phone number, her phone started to act funny. I wonder why.

It’s obvious that Toriko is developing a liking for Sorawo.
I see what she is up to now.

A week later, Sorawo minded her own business eating her own lunch. Somehow, Toriko appeared out of nowhere calling her name. I kind of expected this since she wants to hunt those Wiggles on the Urasekai for those strange cubes.

I guess she can’t do it without Sorawo since she holds the knowledge about them. It’s obvious that Toriko shows some interest in Sorawo when she mentions about being partners in crime after handing Sorawo a gun. Yep, I think this will become an interesting relationship since they depend on each other.

This is Sorawo’s game plan to defeat the Wiggly. Isn’t she taking too much risk?
It’s obvious that Toriko became too worried about Sorawo.

Sure, Sorawo decides to come close to having those Wiggle to possess her. After all, Sorawo believes that by coming close to being in this state by distracting it, Toriko can defeat it. However, Sorawo came very close to losing her mind instead. Thankfully Toriko manages to snap her out of it. Afterwards, she manages to defeat it with a few gunshots at its weak point. Yep, they took the cube and make a run for it.  I guess throwing rock salts indiscriminately didn’t work out as planned.

At last, they pulled through.
Yep, it seems that Sorawo is falling for Toriko.

It’s obvious that they came very close to not making it out alive, but they managed to pull through. Still, I wonder how this relationship will turn out. After all, Sorawo wanted to keep the Urasekai to herself despite being scarry and strange, despite this, she still thinks that it might be fun to experience this place with someone weird. This makes me wonder what kind of relationship Sorawo will develop with Toriko. Also, will Toriko find her friend in that world? We must wait and see as we learn more about that world. ¶
