Shamiko is motivated to learn more about Momo. She decides to enter her dream again. Sadly, it doesn’t go well as planned.
From last time, it seems that Shamiko wants to learn more about Momo. By using her abilities to enter dreams, she starts her mission to manipulate Momo into telling her personal secrets.
When she arrives in Momo’s dream, she stands in a rocky landscape. There is a buff man with a head of the cat guarding the door. He eventually detects Shamiko as an intruder as it chases her with a wand. I have to admit that when Shamiko summons the ancestor statue with four legs, Metako went crazy, transform into cat form, and chased after it. Sadly, he eaten it since it looks like a bug.
With that, you might be wondering how Shamiko entered the door to Momo’s dream. She did so by summoning a bento box of food. The funny thing is that Momo saw through Shamiko’s plan and now knows about her powers. Now with Momo having Shamiko by her tail, it looks like she can’t herself out of this one. Even if she wants to escape, she cannot open the door.
With that, we learn more about Shamiko’s past. She eventually reveals that she is in the hospital most of the time due to an illness. Shamiko couldn’t run during her childhood because of this. Also, she thinks that her father is working from a faraway place. From this, Momo kind of felt bad for Shamiko for forcing her to run. When Shamiko mention about magical girls disappearing, Momo doesn’t seem to mind for some reason.
Aside from that, you might be wondering about that seal. Apparently, Shamiko’s mother knows about it. When Mikan tries to wake Momo up, Momo’s intentions of seeing her mother caused a misunderstanding. Shamiko thought that Momo will grill her mother, causing to become panicked. I have to admit that Shamiko’s misinterpretation of Momo’s intensions was pretty funny. Thankfully, Shamiko’s mother came out and realized what happened.
From the looks of it, the seal was actually really important. Magical Girls were apparently hunting down demons just for points. However, Momo’s sister, Chiyoda Sakura is the exception. She found a place for Shamiko’s mother and father and change the curse so it had less of a burden on Shamiko. This can explain the 40,000 yen a month curse. This can explain why Momo like Sakura decided to help Shamiko and her family.
As a result, Shamiko’s health improved. Also, the seal is apparently there to protect the family from magical girls hunting them down. It had nothing to do with the curse. The funny thing is that Ryoko is not affected as much compared to Shamiko, who inherited most of the demon blood. If you thought An had it bad, Shamiko probably had the worst luck until now. Besides being unlucky, Shamiko dealt with poor health.
However, it appears that Shamiko’s father and Sakura disappeared. Well, Shamiko’s father is currently sealed in an indestructible mikan box. We know that Sakura sealed him away in it, but we don’t know why. Is it to protect him from getting hunted by magical girls? Not only that, he worked with Sakura to protect the city.
From this, it seems that Momo believes that she is Shamiko’s enemy after hearing what Shamiko’s mother revealed. Sure, Shamiko is in disbelief on why Momo feels that way. Still, I wonder how will Shamiko will convince Momo that this is not the case. After all, Momo’s sister, Sakura didn’t hunt them down either. We’ll find out in the finale.
Cool twists. How wonderful that the show’s able to keep its excellent humor even during a serious moment and it not feeling out of place or distracting. Pumped for the finale.
It’s obvious that Momo will eventually find out Shamiko’s powers, but it’s interesting to learn more about Momo’s older sister. Hopefully things will work out in the finale.
