Granbelm – Episode 5 – Nene’s Last Stand

August 3, 2019 by Chikorita157 9 Comments
Nene is now prepared for the next round to win it.

After witnessing what Nene’s powers are, Mangetsu, Fukami and Kuon team up to defeat Nene. Does it go well as expected?

From last time, Fukami with Mangetsu and Kuon devises a plan to defeat Nene. This time, Nene has many fake copies of herself. This means that only one of her attacks are real, thus making it difficult to find her. Eventually, Kuon manages to find the location where Nene is. It’s mostly thanks to Suishou’s attack that she meant to hit Kuon with ended up hitting Nene. In other words, her shield disappeared, thus giving away her location.

It looks liike Nene needs to face Mangetsu face on.

You might be wondering why Nene revealed that she is a mage in front of Mangetsu and Fukami. Apparently, she wants a fair fight against them. Eventually, Mangetsu finds Nene. With that, Nene transformed her ARMANOX and started to fight Mangetsu. She eventually constrained Mangetsu and try to do a finishing move. Somehow, Mangetsu manages to get out of the restraints and attack Nene.

It looks like Mangetsu is a goner, or is she?
Dispair takes over Mangetsu as she does the finishing move on Nene.
Nene in disbelief as Magetsu defeats her.

While Mangetsu thought she was a goner, she saw one of Nene’s memories of her mother leaving her behind. She denies being a mage as Nene cries. Afterwards, Mangetsu goes completely berserk and utterly defeats Nene.

Mangetsu finally comes to a realization of what she just done.

When Mangetsu regains control of her body, she saw her red fingertips and realizes what she has done. Has Mangetsu has cross over the line of suffering? We’ll find out sooner or later if she decides to continue to participate in the Granbelm. This means that this leaves Anna and Suishou. While Anna at this point is becoming tiresome with her endless hatred with Fukami, there is Suishou. She seems interested in Kuon as she always targets her. Also, Kuon suspects that Suishou is might be behind the curse on her older sister. We’ll learn more soon enough.

Still, I am quite curious of this hidden ability within Mangetsu. She manages to defeat Rosa and now Nene with it. Does it bring some clues about her unknown mage relatives? We’ll find out soon enough.

I feel like the parents of those children were torturing them for some reason. I don’t know. If their parents were descendants, why did their children have to go through torture like that in the battle? Did Nene’s mom ever cared? Why did she had to go away to another family with an another kid?

While we don’t know much about Nene’s mother, besides her scolding her in the last episode, the flashback is definately heartbreaking. Still, it’s kind of understandable since hiding her mage identity means life and death as seen in a flashback in the last episode.

Probably. I could imagine what battles her mom fought in the past. Must’ve been worse than the last episode. It would be dangerous of the world knew if Nene and her mom were mages. They could both easily get killed. I think that’s why she is separated.

Mangetsu vs Nene-Nee was quite the spectacle for sure. Great match!

Hopefully Kibou will help ease Nene-Nee’s pain.

Looks like we’ll finally get answers to the mystery that is Anna’s roid rage next time.

I have a feeling Suishou will be the penultimate boss.

Yes, it’s a good match, but hopefully Kibou will cheer her up. But yes, Anna really needs anger management, but I wonder why she is that angry. Also, Suishou is so sinister and it’s surprising that she has the same voice of Madoka who is the opposite of evil.

I wouldn’t know how Kibou would help her ease Nene. She doesn’t even know Nene’s a mage. It would be hard for Nene to explain everything to her. I be surprised if Nene told her everything.

From watching the next episode, it seems that Nene wasn’t upset at all and Kibou still doesn’t know what happened. I guess Nene only told Fukami and Mangetsu what happened.

I mean Kibou was there but Nene shuts up everyone. She still wanted to keep Kibou safe since she’s too young to know.
