Given how quiet the spring season has been, which led to a miserable state of this blog, I am definitely happy that summer is coming soon. With that, I will share what shows I plan to watch this summer along with blog plans.
Dumbbell nan Kilo Moteru?
Air Date: July 3, 2019
Studio: Doga Kobo
It’s yet another school girl show, now focusing on a bunch of girls deciding to take up body building. Sure, there is a male trainer, but I am willing to take the risk. So far, Doga Kobo have so far made some really enjoyable comedy shows in the past few seasons such as Wataten, Uzamaid, and Anima Yell. In other words, it should be a fun watch.
Machikado Mazoku
Air Date: July 11, 2019
Studio: JC Staff
The Manga Time Kirara adaptation drought is over and this is one of the three shows that received an announcement for an anime adaption. While I have the first volume of the manga, I just started reading it.
Either way, it focuses on a high school girl named Yuuko who work up having demon horns and a tail. While she has powers, they are weak. Her family has the 40,000 yen a month curse, which Yuuko can only lift once she defeats a magical girl.
The funny thing is the demon ancestor, Lilth is voiced by Takahashi Minami, who also voices Lucoa from Kobayashi Maid Dragon. Also, Kitou Akari is voicing Ciyoda Momo. It seems that Akari is getting more roles as of late with her most recent roles being Noa and Aru. Either way, it should be a fun watch.
Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka II
Air Date: July 2019
Studio: JC Staff
As expected, while I don’t cover shows with male characters, I will still watch some if I watch a prequel already. This is pretty much a continuation where the first season left off. Not sure if I will cover it on the blog and just review it in the end. We’ll see.
As for the fourth show, I am still deciding between Sounan Desu-ka?, RE;Stage Dreamy Days and Granbelm. I will decide once the season airs.
Blog Updates
While the life situation hasn’t still haven’t improved, I will make an update if it does. Besides that, the past few months have been miserable blog wise. Sure, the spring season didn’t make thing any better.
However, I want to make an effort to reach out and grow my audience with the drop off in comments and Twitter followers. First off, I want to start taking questions from readers and make a weekly digest of all the answers in a detailed manner. You can start sending your questions via Twitter or through our new email address, chikorita157animeblog@ateliershiori.moe, which is made possible with my move to Office 365 Small Business email. I want to become less reliant on Google services due to privacy and monopoly issues. This is a shared mailbox dedicated for this blog allowing users to contact me. Do not send commercial emails or they will be marked as SPAM and will be filtered out. You can also send your questions my mentioning my Twitter.
Also, I have started work on creating a mascot. I used one of those character customization games to come up with a basic character design. It’s now live and her name is Hanamori Yuirko.
Her full profile is now on the about page of this blog. I plan to commission some art work eventually once I receive the funds from the ads. However, it won’t be a while since this blog generates around $2 to $3 a month. Also, I am not sure how much this will cost as I want to replace the existing banner images with the mascot as well. If you want to help out the blog, you are free to donate via Ko-fi. Any donations will go back into improving the blog. Believe it or not, blogging allows me to stay occupied and keep my sanity as my search for a job continues.
Content wise, there is more reviews coming. I plan to review the Machikado Mazoku next and then Koisuru Shouwakusei next. These are the next two Manga Time Kirara manga that will receive an anime adaptation in the future. Also, I will be publishing my Magia Record Volume 1 manga review in a few weeks as well.
With that, these are the plans I have in store for the near future. Feel free to share what you plan to watch next season in the comments.
If you need any help for commissioning artworks, I’m here :p About the price, it’s not cheap, sadly. For a full body + background, you’re going to need approximately 100 USD per artwork.
It’s not too surprising that it will be fairly expensive. Hopefully I will manage to get a full time job sooner than later.
But to start, I probably need one full body and background and 2 without. Probably need to raise around $300, but I don’t plan to do it in the immediate future, probably the first phase once I receive the ad revenue payout.
Mascots can help readers identify your site at a glance. I think it’s a good investment!
Well definitely, I should have kind of done it a few years back, but I never got around to doing it. Once I receive the ad revenue payout, it will happen, at least for the initial images.
