Anima Yell! – Episode 8 – Kana’s Cheer Debut

November 25, 2018 by Chikorita157 2 Comments
It’s quite obvious now that Kana has a crush on Hizume.

At last, we find out the girl who is spying on the Cheer Association.

After spying on the Cheer Association on several occasions, we finally find out who is the red-haired girl. Her name is Uchiku Kana and Hizume revealed that she was part of her cheerleading squad. She apparently calls Hizume “senpai” since she joined after Hizume. Still, I find it funny how she reveals that she quit the squad after Hizume quit. Obviously, she is there because Hizume was part of the team. More on this later.

Aside from that, it appears that the basketball team captain has a match in a prefectural tournament. With that, she wants the Cheer Association to cheer for them at the beginning of the game and during half-time.

It seems that Kotetsu and Kohane is having trouble coming up with ideas.

I find it funny how Kotetsu, Kohane and Uki came up with ideas for choreography. Kotetsu basically spent her time eating sweets while Kohane just threw all the cool moves together. As for Uki, she took inspiration of idol performances without realizing that she has to perform the choreography. Still, this can explain her love for cute clothing, even though she denies it. Somehow, Hizume manages to come up with choreography the girls can follow.

Its obvious why Kana is spying on them. Sure, she complains about the girls’ cheerleading routines and how basic they are, but the reason it’s obvious. She seems to have a crush on Hizume. No wonder her face turns very red she runs into her. With that in mind, she decides to asks Uki why Hizume is cheering with them.

Like Uki who may have a crush on Kohane, Kana apparently have something in common with Uki.
While Kana didn’t actually do this to Uki, I find this funny.

While Uki revealed that Hizume softened up when she is with the Cheer Association, Kana gets upset. When she trips, Uki saved her from the fall. However, she sprains her ankle at the worst possible time. To make it up, Kana decides to take Uki’s place at the game with the others. Quite surprisingly, her cheerleading skills during the performance is surprisingly good. It was so good that Hizume became surprised. I guess Kana kept up with her practice session despite not being in the squad.

Kana shows how it’s done.
Kana is happy to cheer with Hizume.

Either way, Hizume reveals that she doesn’t remember her former members since she focused on becoming the best. This can explain why she doesn’t realize that Kana watched over her during this time. Either way, given that Kana wants to be with Hizume, she decides to join. The funny thing is that Kana faints when Hizume wants her to address the members by their first name. Yep, that is a bit too much for her to handle.

The idea of Kana calling Hizume by her first name was too much for her.

At least now, Kohane now have enough members to form a club and get all that funding. Maybe Kohane’s dream of buying cheerleading uniforms and stuff can become a reality now.

An official Chairleading club? That’s great news!

Some girls are obvious in their crushes.

Kotestu is still embarrassed by her first name. Hopefully the Chairleading club can get her used to it.

It took Kohane 8 episodes to get to this point too. But yes, hopefully Kotetsu will get over her name complex.
